whats it like being a computer programmer?

Well, I don't program these days - and I would say I was always a s/w engineer rather than a programmer, for embedded stuff not databases.

I don't know what database stuff is like - but I've always enjoyed my work. It's interesting, and it allows a certain amount of creativity. These days I spend my time working out why other people's code isn't working properly - but still interesting. Pay isn't too bad either - although the company I work for seems to be trying to turn us into voluntary workers given the pay rises we've had for the last 5 years.

got a job interview for trainee computer programmer... programming delphi databases!

just wondering if anyone else is a programmer and whats it like?

It's pretty dull TBH. If it's just sitting there coding all day it would drive you out of your mind. Obviously the place and the people you're working with can make a big difference though.

There's no such thing as a Delphi database by the way ;)
