Ric
Well.......... As i wasnt a paid up member untill i had my supra all insured up and didnt take up sky at the time. But, Renewal is acoming so i thought i would give sky a call yesturday.. I dont remember who i spoke too on the phone but if i met the guy i think i would be ripping him a new arse, totally unprofessional, and basically was telling me that were not going to be cheap for your car, no matter if your a member of that club or not.. I dont think he could have ruined a potentional sale any more... we didnt even get to a actual price for a policy.. So whats going off with the club insurer, i think they have a rep on here dont they?
chilly
I went with them, and their quote was much cheaper than others. They offer like for like modifications and an agreed price for the vehicle. For my n/a i'm paying £325 foro the year. I am 35 and have full no claims. The woman i spoke to was really helpful. edge
Sky were sh1te. Went with A-Plan. Very helpful and polite and a dam sight cheaper
lockys96
thats very odd, cant remember who i spoke to, but he was very good, and gave me a very good price. i have to ring up soon to declare around 12k worth of changes. and bump up my agreed value
Pabs
I've never had problems with Sky - I have had lots of quotes etc, and always seem really helpful and friendly. I've never used them for a policy though, as I managed to find some better deals elsewhere. (but only by about £20)
ECK
im with sky too found them VERY helpfull they knew what they were talking about got by far the best quote they rang me back to confirm details and to send pack out even called to remind me to post them back the details of mods and no claims etc dont have a bad word to say about them atall!! alex:)
Jake
There is a guy at Sky who is pretty casual in the way he talks to you. He doesn't mean to be rude, it's just the way he is. He seemed to know what he was talking about and the service was fine. He just doesn't bother with the fake politeness and is very 'matey'. As you say, the important thing is he knew what he was talking about. They weren't the cheapest, but for the sake of £20 I went with them because they know what they're doing. Muffleman
Don't like Sky at all, got royally shafted on early cancellation for one Supra, all their letters are shitty, using a-plan now.
Lewis
I'm currently with SKY and TBH I think I will be going with A-Plan when my renewal comes up, just based on some of the feedback I have seen here recently. Doesn't look good unfortunately. Perhaps as a club we should look at A-Plan if they do club discounts etc? Mawby?
Tom S
after the damage to mine. and the £450 excess I wasamazed with the renewal quote call I got today. I was advised if I don't re-sign with Sky straight away it could become more expensive as I would lose my discount for re-sign. Surely this attitude is wrong?? lockys96
that sounds bad. im going to try a-plan in nov
Tricky-Ricky
Well i have gone back with Sky again, as they agreed to beat the quote i had from Adrian Flux, and the only reason is i wanted agreed value, otherwise i would have gone with A plan as the where really cheap, and even cheaper than my TT agreed value with Sky for going single, using the same insurer! work that one out:blink:

So whats going off with the club insurer, i think they have a rep on here dont they? phone them back and ask to speak to Jay - i think hes runs the jap section of sky insurance, hes very helpful and will sort out why you were delt with like this. i had a similar problem where they wouldnt quote me (when i had my fto) and i posted about it, he pmd me. when i phoned him i got a very qood price with a bit extra discount i think. SupraAyf
Sky weren't helpful at all in my case and I got the impression that they weren't even going to attempt to reduce the premium to make it more affordable. I renewed with Adrian Flux (UIG) on Thursday for £495 where as SKY wanted £997. I'm afraid I couldn't justify the extra £502 for a car I use so infrequently! imi
who else offers agree value? I cant justify paying £800 extra just for this bit.....
Tom S
Just literally spoke to Jay. Renewal Quote is £450 protected no claims. + Guaranteed value. Personal touch from a great guy. Had a problem and he called me to resolve. No issues spot on. thanks Tom
M4RK RZ
Same here, not helpful - sounded and acted like they were not bothered, I did not even give them the benafit of getting to the quote stage Got my insurance else where for im sure loads less. Its all a bit crap when you "Have to phone up and speak to Jay" or someone else in particular !! dont you all think ??!! just to get a good deal. Should not matter who you speak too if its a professional set up
albundy68
phone jay with your best quote and 99% of the time sky can beat it. (dont just phone for a quote because it wont be great) where insurance is concerned theres no such thing as a 'professional outfit' imho and as far as having to ask for jay goes, at least you know youre talking to someone that knows his stuff, 99.9% of the insurance phone people know v little about modified/import cars. A plan give excellent quotes, and have a guy simmilar to jay that knows his stuff, but they wont do agreed value.
Tom S
Mark, not what my post meant. He saw I was unhappy. and he knows me, was straight on the phone and Pm, after all he is a business man. And he has to look after his business. After all we would all be the same I'm extremely happy with the quote and happy with his way of doing business. Thumbs up from me
Big Ads
They quoted me a huge re-newal price, but they were very helpful on the phone, will be going back there when I'm 25. Oh the woe's of being young (ish)
Branners
I asked for Jay the other day and they said he 'doesnt work in this branch' any more which I took to mean he had moved on. I take it that isnt true? JB

So whats going off with the club insurer, i think they have a rep on here dont they? For the past 3 years I have tried Sky against Adrian Flux. Sky have ALWAYS been more expensive and I have always ended up with Adrian Flux, £340 fully comp including after-market wheels on a n/a aerotop. markjodrell
Sky were quite expensive for me too, It should be as cheap as it comes for me, age 47, full bonus , no accs or convictions. Admiral were cheapest, mirrored my bonus from my other car . Still wouldnt look forward to having a major clain though, they would probably offer me 3-4k for my car, thats the impression I got from them.. May get another quote off Sky at renewal. Who are A-plan???
