dangerous brain
Anyone use these tyres? I just had to put some new tyres on the back of my aristo but no-where local had anything in my size other than these and some Kumho crap. I've always used Bridgestone Potenza or Goodyear eagle F1's until now. They are the factory fit for all porsche 911's apparently but somehow that doesn't reassure me. 2JG
I've got these on mine, I think the grip is pretty good, but thats just my opinion as I'm no tyre expert.
dangerous brain
Also I have put 285 30 18s on a 9.5 inch wheel. Right on the size limits I think looking at the tyre fitted but at least its now protecting my alloy a bit.
Bobbeh
I have P-Zeros Rosso (N4 compound) all round on my Blitz rims.
Gamer
I have used all three that you have mentioned and in order of preference I would choose: 1. F1's 2. Potenzas 3. P Zero's To be honest though, personally I would not even pick the P Zero's again, I found them to be so-so in the dry and pretty crappy in the wet. dangerous brain
Yeah its the N4 compound ones I have just stuck on. You say their wet performance isn't great Joe? Hmmm pants thats the reason I replaced the rears. The tread was a bit thin and more so in the centres of them I hit some standing water on the drive back to the UK last night and the car just completely lost all adhesion to the road. I was very lucky to not panic and hold onto it until I came off the water. Scared me sh*tless it did. Before anyone harps on about taking it easy in the wet I was doing no more than 50 MPH when I saw the water and was already coasting down speed as a truck rut had already given me a damn good wobble further back that road(I'd hate to have been going any faster or under braking at the time or I would definitely have lost it) I'll say one thing its embarrasin driving in a car like mine at 35-50 mph whilst people in MPV's loaded up hack past you. Bobbeh
I think if they're good enough for Porsche they'll be fine for you They didnt let me down in Germany, very grippy around the Ring.
dangerous brain
I hope so Bobbeh. I'll see at Donington on tuesday. I was going to get the last use out of the old tyres there but last night really terrified me. I can honestly say I have never been so scared in my life as I was last night. Bobbeh
Yeah, the S02s were great, think they've been discontinued now though. I've had Eagle F1s on before and they were great, had no complaints at all really.
dangerous brain
I know the Bridgestones and goodyears are good as I have used them myself before. Its the Pirrellis I have never used. I didn't have any choice really. I couldn't risk totalling the car if it rains at Donington and only one tyre place in my area stock that size tyre and thats all they had. Oh another place had kumho's but I don't class them as tyres
toyotanutuk
i have p zeros on mine i dont drive hard and the centers have lost tread in under 1500 miles

Jspec Germany
I think if they're good enough for Porsche they'll be fine for you They didnt let me down in Germany, very grippy around the Ring. Ditto Bobbeh. I felt very good with these around the ring. I have them on both cars (other is BMW 540i) and they're the best tire I've ever owned. Especially for wear on the supra. Key to note - I used Pzero Nero M + S which is all weather ultra-high performance.
Bobbeh
i have p zeros on mine i dont drive hard and the centers have lost tread in under 1500 miles If thats the case then there's something wrong with your tyre pressures or alignment. Mike B
I didn't have any choice really. I couldn't risk totalling the car if it rains at Donington I just stuck a pair of bridgestones on the front of mine today, they couldn't find any GY fronts in my size. I have a pair of rears which are waiting to go on for the drive home. And.. errr... didn't want to mention it but I had a trawl though the weather sites and although it's too early for a radar (certain proof - that comes tomorrow night, mon morning) I'm 100% confident there will be a few wet laps on the cards. I'll post some links on mon. is the car mapped yet? anyone fancy a group buy on windscreen wipers
supragold
I'm running with these all round. I've also used Kumho's on my old wheels and thought they were really good as it goes. Dare I say, maybe even better. But then again I was only stock then
dangerous brain
OK so a mixed response. At least there are no horror stories. If its going to rain then I am glad that I changed them now. The car is geting mapped on Monday on the way to the circuit which is why I don't have any time to get new tyres on Monday. dangerous brain
Well I have to say the wet performance of these tyres is pretty amazing I am impressed with them so far.
dangerous brain
OK so a bit more feedback on these tyres. I did a trackday at zandvoort in Holland. They performed awesomely. Heres the downside though they are a tad on the soft compound side. The rear right is now completely shot away and the rear left is following in its footsteps. Basically they have lasted, one dyno tuning session, one wet all day track day, 4000 miles, and 1 40 minute track session. They've been fun but I am going straight back to the goodyear eagle F1's when I have the cash to change tyres.
Jspec Germany
I'm beginning to look at a new tire and think I'm going with one of these two: Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position or Yokohama ADVAN S.4. Anyone running these? The Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S has been a great tire and lasted longer than any other I've had on the supra, but I've read that the above are even better. Feedback appreciated. dangerous brain
The ones I have on mine have lasted no length at all. OK I abused them on the track twice (once in the rain so that doesn't really count) but I expected better longevity from them.
Bobbeh
Are you running with a non standard suspension settings?
