Horbury.......near wakefield and im not biased.:D

5 min to the M1 and M62

10 min to leeds, 30 min to manchester, 30 min to sheffield.

5 min into wakey. horbury school is just having £20million spent on it to make it a "super school"

area is nice and up and coming in house prices so a good investment could be had!

just round the corner!

I went to school here and 10 years on I end up living there. Its actually nice walking down the street which is rare these days. Good fun when they have the street party and all those shinanigans going on in the summer

We have put our house up for sale but decided to wait now... didnt really want to move!

York has running water, all over the streets sometimes.

You need a nice village somewhere north of York, but not too close to Cleveland, theres hundreds of them.

Live in the country, not near Leeds or Wakey.

Hey guys,

I've been offered an oppotunity to move and work in Yorkshire but do not really know the areas too well. I would appreciate any advice on areas to consider living - I have a young family so ideally a small village with good local schools but not too far from a main town for shops and the like. Some good driving roads would be nice too ;)

Cheers for your help.

Sherburn-In-Elmet where I live.

Right on the doorstep of the monthly squires meet:)

I like the Scarcroft area. Nice roads.:eyebrows:

I used to work just down the road, near the big Agfa factory.

Motorsport Wheels, Coal Road for the cheapest SO3's, tell them I sent you.

I live in Northallerton, about 40mins from Middlesbrough for big shops, but still in the propaahhh countryside. Top driving all round.

Fish, when you move up, you'll wonder why you wasted so much time in traffic down south. My idea of heavy commuting traffic these days is only managing an average 55mph on the drive in to work.
