Sharpie
Don't really care about the physical size so, I assume bigger is better ? faster ? I think at least 120GB should be enough, for now. Any recommendations ? Can you buy cheap but, still have good quality ?
Gamer
I would answer this but I do not usually buy cheap. Maybe one of our northern members will be along to recommend one
Sharpie
Quality is what I normally go for but, I don't know the HDD market at all so, don't want to overspend - if you see what I mean. Gamer
I use a Lacie external USB HD for storage and it works fine for me, no complaints at all. It was a little pricey though as it was designed by Porsche
Branners
I use the Lacie Porsche drives as well, seem to work well but are damn expensive. If you are happy with a BIG unit then the normal Lacie units work well. They go up to 1000gb now I believe. JB

Branners
All the machines we use with the Lacie drives are XPSP2 so no problems there. JB

osso
I prefer to use an 2.5" or 1.8" laptop hard disks, and an external case which has firewire or USB, so it doesnt require an external power supply! smaller the better!

MarkTheBoy
I bought one of these the other day http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-250GB-Essential-External/dp/B000EXZAOY?tag2=adwordsppc-21 Turned up yesterday, really really impressed. Automatically swiches on and off with the machine, plug and play, small, portable and looks good too. Its about the size of the small version of the PS2 but a bit thicker. Plus its virtually silent. Only downside is its actually only a 230gb drive... lying bastards
