Kopite
Shocking behaviour. FIFA need to clarify this free kick thing though. Some refs say "on my whistle only" and others let Giggs do what he did tonight - needs to be more consistent.
steb9780
Congrats on your 8000th post Kopite. Are you looking forward to watching a proper match tomorrow
Kopite
Yep should be good
steb9780
Yep should be good I can't wait for it tomorrow, been trying to get a ticket for Anfield in the home leg, but they are like gold dust. Well I could get one but it'd require a re-mortgage. Did you see the crushing in the stands at the Man Ure game before. I thought all this was supposed to have been sorted after Hillsborough. Or is it just English clubs that got rid of barriers etc. It's shocking to think that it could happen again.

Luckily this time no one was killed.
steb9780
So what are you going for tomorrow, what score. I fancy us to nick an away goal. I'd take 1-1, then back to Anfield where they won't know what hit them. The place will be rocking.
Kopite
I think it'll be 1-1 or possibly 2-1 to them. Don't see us getting spanked, just hope Rafa gets his team right i.e. no Zenden!!

Yeah I'd take us getting beat 2-1 too. But I have a good feeling about tomorrow. I don't think he'll play Zenden, Gonzalez was training today so he might be on the left tomorrow. Do you think Mascherano will play some part?? He got clearance form the PL today, they reckon the FA will follow suit pretty quickly. Kopite
I'd go Reina (unfortunately), Riise Carra Sami Finnan, Alonso, Sissoko, Gerrard, Kuyt, Crouch, Bellamy. Alternate between 4-5-1 and 4-3-3 with Kuyt and Bellamy dropping back in around the midfield when needed, then let them push up when we have the ball
steb9780
I think Crouchy could be the key man tomorrow. They'll struggle against him.
Kopite
They will but i think he needs pace either side which is why i'd play the 2 runners with him. Xabi will have a great time tomorrow with the size of that pitch, give him pace up front in Kuyt and Bellers and we'll be laughing
Havard
Am I the only one who thinks that Lille had a perfectly good goal disallowed?? 1 -1 would have been a fair result for me! H.
Tom S
well will be one of the few times I will want Liverpool to do well (you know what I mean Ro ) Crap game, but good idea for the free kick. you could see Ryan talking to the ref and he walked away. it has happened so many times for other clubs was good to see it happen for us for a change. steb9780
Yes 1-1 would have been a fair result, Lille were decent but I think they'll get tonked at Old Toilet in 2 weeks time. Bum-boy Ronaldo didn't look to happy with being took off. Queue the rumours of him off to Barca and Real.
garetheves
In terms of the free kick, if you watch the replays, Giggs asks the ref a question, the ref shakes his head. Looks like Giggs did ask if he had to wait for the whistle and the answer was no. Lille were a disgrace to football tonight IMO. First of all the crowd, how they were allowed to pile so many fans in that comfined space needs investigating, then the players reaction to the goal (the bunch of babies throwing toys out of the pram) and also the fans reaction to the goal. I wouldnt be surprised if they get chucked out the competition, and i hope that do.

I'll be happy to take Zenden back to boro he should never have left us! And I am SO GLAD Arsenal got beat. That Wenger bloke has really got on my tits recently
MaveriK
Perfectly good goal, are you a ? How can shoving someone in the back to enable you to get your cheating head on the ball be fair. Would you take that point of view if it were scored against whoever you support, i think not!

Would you take that point of view if it were scored against whoever you support, i think not! I take it you are a Utd fan Maverik? Do you not think that Vidic realised he wasn't going to get there and decided to do a Ginola type "hand in the air, I've been shot by a sniper" The Lille guy hardly touched him if you watch the replay from the original view point. Granted, if you watch it from the other side of the pitch the replay does not show how much contact there is but Vidic going flying in a manor that I can only describe as a dive. I do have the benefit of being completely impartial as I quite like Man Utd. I also don't support Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leeds etc or any other team that likes to see Man U suffer. If you are not a Man Utd fan then your comment does surprise me.!! H. Edit!! Oh I have no problem with the free kick as it was quick thinking from Giggs and NO!! It doesn't matter who I follow as when the ball hit the net I said Oh Shit as I thought it was a good goal.
MaveriK
Busted, United fan! Remember all those years ago running around like a devil in the playground and if you were going full tilt and someone gave you a push how far you would stumble/fall and what a tit you would look like face in the ground. Thats exactly how Vidic looked last night, i honestly thought he might have hit the back of the net before the ball.

I was supporting Man Utd last night and was glad to see Arsenal get beat as I am Englands only northern Spurs fan. I suppose you can have the last laugh Maverik as you stuffed us a couple of weeks ago on our own ground!! H.
MaveriK
At this moment in time i will take any win, we have this annoying habbit of dominating games and not putting the ball in the onion bag. It will haunt our season. Will be cheering your boys on in the FA cup though, think most of the country will be.
