RedM
Isn't it a pain in the arse that there are som many software updates on a near daily basis and each one of these eats into your ISP usage allowance? It's fine if you have a big allowance but I only get 4gb at peak times and I reckon they suck up a fair chunk of it. Grumble over.
colsoop
Can't you set it up to download updates at a time to suit you ?

RedM
I can't seem to do that. I have task manager switched off but Zonealarm, AVG and Windows Defender seem to decide when they want to download despite my efforts.
colsoop
for AVG Double click the logo in your task bar In the little window click on "Scheduler" Then click the box at the bottom of the window "Scheduled tasks" A box appears called "Scheduled tasks" Click on "update plan in basic mode" and then click the "edit schedule button" then just change the time it checks for updates. Conrad
I've yet to encounter problems with this fair usuage thingy. I've always been with Wanadoo/Orange and have never been told off - I quite literally download round the clock. My mate on the other hand was basically told to go elsewhere by Tiscali after they got fed up of his excessive usage. Anyone else with Orange and have had a warning? Or am I just lucky?
