Pete
My one gripe is that I can't import a PST into MacMail. Or to put it a better way - I can't without spending money Have a read of this. Migrating from XP to OX-X takes less time than to migrate from XP to Vista?! http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ratcliffe/?p=

Pete
I'm giving serious thought to purchasing a Mac laptop. Why does that remind me of Hannibal Lecteur? "I'm giving serious thought to eating your wife"
AndrewOW
Cheers, but what I really wanted to know was does it do it invisibly or does the whole 'puter scream "DON'T DO ANYTHING! I'M BUSY DOING IMPORTANT STUFF" for a bit? Yes its invisible. You wouldn't know its happening at all, and as mentioned already, there aren't that many updates really. I think PC programs have to patch everything all the time to keep things going day to day to stop it all going off pop instead of shipping a complete OS and effective anti virus software for a change. My girlfriend's PC is always whirring away updating etc, and its so annoying.
RedM
Have you got some really old PC or sod all RAM? I don't have any of those problems and this PC is as old as the hills (XP Corp SP2, Athlon XP2000, 1gb RAM) Besides, software that ain't running can't check for updates. Maybe you need to manage your startup apps? XP Home SP2, Athlon64 3200, 512mb ram.
