Guest DMo
Hi all, Having just bought a Supra recently with a very clean underside, I thought it would be prudent to get it protected. Is there any reason why the usual Waxoyl treatment shouldn't be done? Anything that should be avoided? I gather that the exhaust should be avoided because Waxoyl stinks when it gets hot. It's a stainless steel affair anyway so won't need it. Undersealer is clearly out of the question. Thanks, Dan.
geoffvalenti
I usually Waxoyl the underside of mine once a year. I agree not to get it on the exhaust. You also want to avoid the brake disks for obvious reasons. Other than that, spray away
Kranz
Go ahead and give it a gallon or so! Try and blast it on/through and in everything underneath but watch out in the summer when it starts to drip out Steam cleaning the underside before applying will help it cling better too. Guest DMo
Thanks. I don't really have the facilities to do it myself, so will be looking for a local garage to do it. I know the chap that works on my camper does Waxoyl jobs so may ask him. I know he's thorough on the old Vdubs so know he'll do a good job on the Supra. D. Mike M
He'll have to be on those old rust buckets Yip, wax oil isn't good enough just rusts underneath it on a Vdub. Stone chip is much harder wearing and is like rubber.
