garetheves
Me and the missus have been talking for a while about getting a DSLR and as fate would have it our trusty point and click Fuji digital packed in on saturday so went shopping yesterday and got one of these. Seemed like a pretty good DSLR for a beginner like me. http://www.canon.co.uk/for_home/product_finder/cameras/digital_slr/eos_350d/index.asp Now ive got it i want to learn all about the various features and techniques, skills etc etc. Does anyone know of any good websites/forums (ive tried googling but cant be arsed trailing through all of them) with techno lingo explanations, tricks, skills, basically how to get the most out of the camera. colsoop
Nice camera. The best way i found for learning things is to read the manual then pick an object to photgraph and play with the settings to see how the object changes depending on what features you use. Buy a tripod as well Gaz.
geoffvalenti
Nice camera Gaz What lense(s) did you get with it? This site is pretty good for tutorials and general advice etc. http://www.ephotozine.com/forum/viewquestions.cfm?catid=20 Have fun taking photos. Try and "obtain" a copy of Photoshop if you haven't got one, its great for processing your images. A PM my way could get you an evaluation copy of V7

Ive got a copy of Photoshop CS installed already and am slowly getting use to all the features on there as well.
Alan999
Nice camera! Just leave it on auto untill you get used to using it, then have a mess with the setting to find out what stuff does. Ive found its Well worth having a look at some in the DSLR mags that are on sale to, they explain alot.

geoffvalenti
Nice camera I have the 400D I find auto focus crap though Hmm, I've always found Canon auto focus to be pretty good. It certainly was on the 10D I've just sold, and is great on my new 5D. Are you taking advantage of being able to choose the most appropriate auto focus point for the subject? geoffvalenti
Theres some in my garage Tom Obviously the quality is reduced somewhat If you want the originals to play around with, I'm happy to send them to you via email, but bear in mind that the RAW files from the 5D are BIG
