Me and the missus have been talking for a while about getting a DSLR and as fate would have it our trusty point and click Fuji digital packed in on saturday so went shopping yesterday and got one of these. Seemed like a pretty good DSLR for a beginner like me.

Now ive got it i want to learn all about the various features and techniques, skills etc etc. Does anyone know of any good websites/forums (ive tried googling but cant be arsed trailing through all of them) with techno lingo explanations, tricks, skills, basically how to get the most out of the camera.

Nice camera Gaz

What lense(s) did you get with it?

This site is pretty good for tutorials and general advice etc. http://www.ephotozine.com/forum/viewquestions.cfm?catid=20

Have fun taking photos.

Try and "obtain" a copy of Photoshop if you haven't got one, its great for processing your images.

A PM my way could get you an evaluation copy of V7 ;)

Nice camera.

The best way i found for learning things is to read the manual then pick an object to photgraph and play with the settings to see how the object changes depending on what features you use.

Buy a tripod as well Gaz.

Already got a tripod mate, had one from ages ago and fits lovely. Pretty good one as well. I was having a bit of a play (with the camera ;)) last night while reading the manual but a lot of lingo used im not used to, just need something to help me understand how they work and im sure ill be able to suss the rest out with time and practise.

Cheers, just got the standard lens for now (not sure which one tbh) but will be getting a longer one within a few months once ive got used to the limitations of this one. Ive got a copy of Photoshop CS installed already and am slowly getting use to all the features on there as well.
