Glosphil
Hi Guys, I've pretty much decided on my parts list for my single, and who will install it, but now im thinking I should rebuild my engine first ? Can you recommend someone to rebuild it ? and a rough price of what it costs ? Many thanks
Jake
What do you mean by 'rebuild'? Uprated rods, bearings etc? Chris Wilson would be my ideal choice but I can't afford him and he's too far away from me. Phoenix would be my other choice.

Uprated parts in the bottom end, how far I need to go I have no idea I initially thought the stock parts would be fine but I understand it wont last that long running high BHP so want to make the engine strong so it last a number of years. RobSheffield
Probably once again Phil, have a look through the older threads on what does need doing, and see what your budget allows, then contact CW and Pheonix and see whats what
supRo
I would go to Phoenix in Watford. They have rectified incorrect rebuilds by other garages too! Speak to Mark.

tooquicktostop
I think it depends on the BHP you will be looking for but the standard engine can take 550 bhp all day long, Greg at turbofit was running his car with a standard bottom end and huge power I remember him telling me

I agree i just think that if your target is around the 500 mark then your money is well spent on other areas like brakes, fuelling, ecu, etc, i have spent too much money in the past on engine re builds that are not really required as many will agree 500-550 BHP for everyday road use is plenty
