michael
This seems to be quite a common issue with the earlier NAs now - the current line of thinking is that it's the differential mount(s) that are at fault. (I think the NA only has one diff mount but space for two like the TT??)
Jezz
I'll help you with that bouncy arse. Good sets of shocks here if you need them.

Good sets of shocks here if you need them. lol thanks huni i also need a few more bits of ya if ya dont mind ya already no about bumper and bonnet which i hope you've still got saved for me will sort out details as soon as me insurance do SOMETHING! i also need...... a positive battery connection (i know thats odd) the connection that goes over the terminal seems to be bent therefore its not holdin on the battery well at all but theres a little nut that just holds on the connection so im hopin that will be easy enough. i need a cig lighter somehow my cvery blonde mate managed to lose it out thye window (dont even ask) and i think i will need that ignition column and locks etc some one took a look at it, managed to get keys out said that the key was cut dodgy but i dont think thats the problem as he put it bk in and now its stuck again. if i think of any more bits ill let you no takin it to toyota to find out wot it is but someone has said "Suspension member bolts if my memory serves me right...mine was very bad when i first bought it, got all the bolts tightened and four wheel allignment done and its been fine ever since. Also have a look on the supra forum...you'll find quite a few people complain about this and have them tightened about twice a year. " could it maybe be this??? thanks for all the help mucho thanks
michael
It's subframe bolts that have a reputation for getting loose as far as I'm aware.
imi
what about the geometry of the car? have you checked the 4wheel alignment?

DaveK
I am still waiting for the diff mounts to turn up to see if it cures my problem. May call Phoenix today to see if they have any news. Oh - and FYI, new rear shocks didn't cure it for me.
nottschick
cool cheers dude you've just saved me a mint lol
DaveK
I just chased Phoenix about my diff mounts - no news, so he'll chase them. My MOT is due in mid-april, so unless they turn up imminently and can be fitted next week I will probably wait until mid-march. I can then get a service, new MOT and diff mounts all done in one go. Jezz
mate is that bumper flush all the way round or has it got the sort of cove where the number plate sits? Flush. I think most stock bumpers just had the plastic plate holder thingy that screwed to the bumper.

Jspec Germany
Is this problem more pronounced in the wet and when going over cracks in the road or painted surfaces?
DaveK
For me, not more pronounced in the wet. But often seems to be triggered by uneven road surfaces. Results in a lot of "horizontal" movement, and the car can feel like it's rocking from side to side for about 10s. Not fun. If my diff mounts don't cure it, my Supra may go in the summer. At the moment, it's not fun and unless it's fixed I will sell it and find something that is.
