The mkiv Supra Owners Club

The "Whatever happened to....?" thread

Jake

Recommended Posts

This is a thread for folks to ask what happened in the end with certain things on here that they may have missed the end of, or the person never updated the story.

The one I'm wondering about is; the guy, I forget who it was, that had recently got married but didn't plan on having kids for a while. And then his Mrs said she wanted kids straight away or the marriage was over.

Anyone know what happened with him?

Also, what's happening with Rosie's Supra nowadays? I know she doesn't post much anymore. Anyone know about her car?

Yeah, and the track car, the curcuit car, the drift car, the daily driver car and all those others that didn't exist

Did you ever go there ? there were a couple of half taken apart standard supras that they nicked parts out off, there were no drag supra, circuit car, or anything lol

The only car that looked the ticket was Jody's NA Supra, it did look nice.

I feel sorry for jody, he is actually a really nice guy and worked hard. Shame he had an inept lying boss.

I hope he comes back and makes something of it all. He'll get my vote.

Yes, I did go there, saw the facilties and met the management first hand.

Edit, btw, I can't comment on Jody. This was before he joined.

Phil, look up Interpro on a few forums before you start backing them mate ;)

Yes, I have seen their reputation on a few forums and it doesnt look good. But I've not dealt with them, I've only dealth with Lucifer and Jody. Lucifer was an obvious shark and would tell you anything. Jody was straight, honest, helpful, polite and put up with a lot of questions. He's also a good mechanic. I watched him do my entire service including cam belt etc and he knew what he was doing. He walked me through my engine and what to look for etc. I've not had that from anyone before to that level. He stayed late and sorted me out on a couple of things too. I'd love to hear he came good with mkivstore. He does deserve it. Hope everyone gives him the chance.

I thank you Phil... I hope everyone gives me a chance too.... Heres hoping :)

No probs mate, hope they do too, just keep the way you are and dont change your attitude to customers and you'll do fine.

I get the feeling its going to be an uphill struggle though. Just weather it out and prove yourself and you'll be sorted.

I think that's a bit harsh Darryl. To the best of his knowledge Phil has had good work from Jody and is happy with the service. Seems fair comment to me.

I did a little job on a Supra today for a fellow member and he was saying almost exactly the same as Phil; that Jody is a top guy and knows what he's doing and Martin isn't and doesn't. I don't think either of these things are in dispute any more.

Shame it took some folks so long to the see the truth and a few people got screwed.

Its irrelivant what he knows to be fair homer, Most people can judge a character..... It seems he did and had a good experience... Why slate him for that...

I dont remember people slating Martin for the work completed, more to do with communication and parts delivery...

So, as you've previously admitted that you have no clue technically, yet you are happy to recommend a trader of which you have extremely limited experience of to our club members? Not digging at Jody, but these sort of posts get on my man tits...

Lol, you love arguing dont you :)

I know when someone is knowledgable and when they are not, and when they are straight and when they are not. Im not totally inept with engineering either, I just dont know much about turbo cars. I stand by my word. There's no need to put the guy down. And its just my opinion, as with everyone on here, you can take it, or leave it, as I do with other peoples opinions.

Lets not start another mkiv argument please. I recommend noone, I acknowledge someone who was helpful thats all.

No, in fact I really hate arguing. What I really care about is members here not getting ripped off by rogue traders. This has happened so often in the last year that I'm very defensive of members dealings with traders on here.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not putting Jody down here. From all accounts he appears to be a decent & honest guy to deal with.

I've only dealt with MkIV in the past few weeks, and I've only dealt with Jody personally... I'm sorry to hear what had happened in the past, and took some time before I went there to read up on peoples experiences... I also went down to talk to Jody before I had anything done, to get both sides, and I was happy that in the 'Post Martin' days my car would be looked after...

I've had a few things done now, and it should be going in soon for a new clutch and some other bits and bobs... Everything's been done correctly, and Jody's always done everything he can to provide the best service (Even offering to come 40 miles to my house to fit a part that was delivered late)...

So from me, MKivJodyStore gets a big thumbs up, and I'm certainly looking forward to see what the future brings :)

Ok fair play, I was expecting you to have a go then. Understandable from that point of view. Its a bit of a touchy subject with me, because when I had my service there, I made a thread and instead of it being a praise to Jody thread, it turned into a slagging match. MKIVStore didnt last much longer after that.

Lets all hope he can do something as there isnt much else in the area around here that I know of, and he does really want to help his customers which frankly is where it all begins. Too many garages want to take your money and dont care about the end result. At least he is genuinly helpful which is so lacking in all areas of customer service across all industries these days.

Jody, as you know I've moved away but im in the area every other weekend decorating my house. I need the following fairly urgently.

RPM Sports clutch.

Nur Spec Exhaust one with the removable baffle.

PM me a quote if you can mate.

Cheers.
