absz
Right complete novice on ecu piggybacks and mapping: fitted the emu last week with 780cc injectors, borrowed a laptop of someone to confiqure the parameter settings:d all fine fires up and runs. 1/ my question is on the read up it says that you can switch from two different maps, is that done on the dip switches only or can you use the option 1/2 outputs ? 2/ i'm running the standard boost pressure sensor do i have to upgrade as i would like to run at 1.4bar boost. i have a fuelcut chip fitted inside the ecu to overcome boostcut. 3/ on connecter C pins 31&37 analog voltage input/output what are they used for? 4/on connecter B pins 14&21 airflow voltage/frequency inputs what are they used for ? Ian C
1/ my question is on the read up it says that you can switch from two different maps, is that done on the dip switches only or can you use the option 1/2 outputs ? The instructions are so wildly unclear on this I just set all dip switches in the upwards location and use injector and ignition map 1. The map switching is only done via these switches though, you can't use the option inputs to control them. 2/ i'm running the standard boost pressure sensor do i have to upgrade as i would like to run at 1.4bar boost. i have a fuelcut chip fitted inside the ecu to overcome boostcut. You don't need a fuel cut defender any more, it's probably best to remove it. The reason for not needing one is because you scale the airflow down to control the larger injectors. You'll never feed the stock ECU a signal big enough to represent one bar of boost or higher, as that means you need 100% duty cycle and that in turn means you need bigger injectors. As the ECU never sees 1bar+ it never initiates fuel cut. A secondary reason for not needing one is that there is a built in function in the E-Manage for this anyway. Removing it will remove a potential point of confusion should the airflow signal not seem to be behaving correctly, although if it's inside the actual ECU you probably don't need to. 3/ on connecter C pins 31&37 analog voltage input/output what are they used for? Not a lot. You don't need to use them. 4/on connecter B pins 14&21 airflow voltage/frequency inputs what are they used for ? 14 is for a Skyline's second airflow meter. Unused in your application. 21 is for Karmann Vortex style airflow meters, again, unused in your application. -Ian
absz
thanks for clearing up my issues:d i can now tidy up the loom and hide it away. will pm you reqarding mapping:)
Sheefa
Glad it's all working alright ABSxxx and there are no problems with the EMU! At least you've fitted it, it would still be sitting in my house Iif I'd kept it gathering dust!
