Some good games coming out for the pc in March:

Bio shock.

Stalker.

Crysis.

I was looking at the videos of the games on IGN and they look pretty impressive, that should test these uber gaming rigs you guys have :D

I wonder how long till HL 2 episode 2 is ready for download?

Same here, Ric. I don't think it'll be as good as they claimed it would be years back. I know that they've had to trim back on the amount of things that the NPCs do when you aren't around. I also understand that the game is now less free-form and more linear than they'd hoped.

Still intrigued by the environment and the anomalous zones.

To see Crysis in all its glory, you'll have need a DX10 compatible video card, though it will still look great on DX9L.

I think Crysis will be the biggest game of the year on the PC, as I dont think other gaming engines come close to the CryEngine 2 one.

What didnt you like about FarCry Carbonangel?

Hopefully the story line for Crysis wont be as 'cheesy' as the one from FarCry :)

I think the BioShock demo link posted above is the XBOX 360 or PS3 version.

Far cry was crytecs first game. Even they admit it was cheesey.

Crysis, wont be cheesey at all. Looks absolutely amazing. Cant wait for it!

Ive been playing armed assault demo a little. Seems ok, but very hard though.

just couldnt find the movement, aiming realistic, just didnt seem right, the surroundings where too colourfull and cartoon like

Just didnt seem to like it in general, im still yet to find a top what beats HL2 for story, game play and graphics

I laughed at what crytec said in an interview when asked if the game would be ported to the 360, their reply was along the lines of yeah we could do it if there was demand but it will have to be cut down so the system wouldnt melt.

lol

I will build a new pc the week Crysis comes out. Cant see a reason to upgrade untill then.

Thats my plan too :D The recommended specs (at the moment) are:

CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)

Graphics: Nvidia 7600 or ATI X1600 Pro (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent

RAM: 1.5Gb

HDD: 6GB

Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)

Optical Drive: DVD

Software: DX10 with Windows Vista

Though these do sometimes increase shortly before the game comes out.

EDITED - Seems the GFX requirements were downgraded more recently...

Well my current PC is beyond that already!

But i like to run games absolutely maxed. So ill be buying some stuff to cope with everything it can throw at me lol.

Im thinking 8800GTX in SLI, with whatever is the best duel/quad core GPU to get at the time.

Just updated the post as it seems they've lowered the GFX spec. Mine is below spec, only a 3200+ and XFX 7600GTX, still runs all current games at 1024x768 with gfx maxed, but I cannot see it running Crysis very well. Whatever games companies post as recommended is usually bare minimum unless you want every gfx options swicthed off.

CPU tech is moving on fast atm, there should be some huge spec chips coming out in the next 6-9 months so will be worth waiting it out.

Crysis looks awesome, some real 'next generation' graphics there. Got a long wait though, Sept is the earilest release date.

Im pretty sure it'll be out before September Homer, I think Crytek are aiming for June-July.

I'll try to find out, as I've worked with them in the past and know of several people working with them now on a Crytek backed mod for Crysis called Obsidian Edge 2.

UPDATE:

Can't give an exact date due to an NDA, but lets just say if it only comes out in Sept or later there would be a lot of unhappy people in the gaming industry.

I need a new computer, mines flagging behind as a 3.2Ghz, 6800GTX. Only just bought the Supra so a bit short of cash currently, plus I'm starting to get used to it already so BPU is on the cards! :D I need a better job.

Also hoping Final Fantasy XII will be good, I enjoyed FF8 but been a bit patchy since then - but that's PS2 so no need to upgrade.

Oh, and waiting for HL2 EP2 myself. Come on already!
