SupraAyf
Guys, I have just helped out a bloke today that has a fecked R33 Liner (R25DET - 1995 model). It sounds like a shed so I had a quick look over it (which then turned in to a few hours). Besides the fact that the engine needs a damn good service, i discovered that the SAFC-2 has been incorrectly wired (and I mean really bad!!). To cap it all off but he doesn't know how to use the thing and has been thrashing his car during his 4-months of ownership. I have totally refitted his SAFC-2 but have disconnected the 2 pressure wires in order to stop any adverse affects that the FC inevitably would have on an engine that has not been calibrated on a rolling road. He went for a quick run in it and has said the power curve is much smoother and stronger following my refit of the FC unit. The problem that seems to exist is that following the completion of the start-up map, the engine then goes in to horrendous oscillations where it fluctuates constantly between 300RMP and 1050RMP. My initial thought is that its something to do with the TB/Inlet sensor as the ECU seems to be constantly attempting to correct the Air Fuel ratio. The SAFC can no longer affect the AFR as its is now only monitoring the likes of the RPM and Throttle signal. Well, R25 DET's ain't my bag but have any of you guys got an idea of what could be the problem. I only met the bloke yesterday but I'm trying to help him as he doesn't have much money! Cheers everyone, Andrew
