My last car didn't have a TT while friends with the same car did and the turbo's on mine and their's still need to be replace at a similar mileage 72K.

As i said waste of money.

ok - so you manually do the job of a turbo timer anyway. In which case - the arguement is "Why bother with a Turbo Timer - when you can do it manually ?"

If you do everthing legally (as we all do of cause :D )and disclose the TT the insurance will go up it you so you may add a couple of miles to the turbo life but you add to the cost of the insurance. So say £80 for a TT £50 extra to the insurance per year + the fuel when idleing (i know the fuel cost is low but it's still a cost) it's a false economy.

don't disclose it then the thatcham cert on the alarm is invalid and so is your insurance,

I've disclosed every mod to Ad Flux .. TT, BOV, Gauges, Mesh Grill, Wheels. The cost without the mods was £891 ... with mods £974.

I fail to see how my insurance will increase £50 per year based on the mods. It's likely to go up anyway - coz to compensate on other drivers claiming!

Fuel cost ? Personally I don't really think that comes into it. You've just said that you leave your car idling - thus doing the job of a turbo timer manually.

IMHO and not mening to be insulting to anyone TT are bought by people who believe all the hipe (spelling) "Emperors new clothes" anyone.

I think this thread is getting distorted

a) Does a turbo timer have any use ?

or

b) Isn't just as easy to manually wait for the turbos to cool down ?

It's abit confusing where your POV is given the above ?

Come on guys (actually 1 guy), i only wanted to know which one to go for.....not this big debate. If you don't like them don't put your opinion on this thread, it's a thread asking which TT to go for not if it's good or not....:)

So which one? The blitz is winning :p

Personally I like the Blitz ...

If you've already got a Boost Gauge ... the a Blitz FATT Auto will do.

If you want one with Boost Gauge included go for the DC-TT.

I went for the FATT - because I've got a DEFI BF Boost gauge anyway.

But I like the Blitz (any TT does this nowadays anyway) - is the Auto function. It measures for how long to leave for cooling off period - based upon how you've driven it.

If you buy a TT - then get a wiring loom to go with it.
