Samuri sword

I don't know how it works in Karate et al but, once into the Dan grades, we have grading intervals measured in years and the high grades have to do some serious overseas travelling to get to grading sessions.

Very similar (with the JKA anyway). You have to be 1st dan for at least a year, 2nd dan for two years and so on. In reality you'd have to be absolutely shit hot to get anywhere near 4th dan by your mid thirties.

It's amazing watching the difference in ability between the graded members.

I know what you mean! When I was 1st kyu (just before black) I came home from uni for a bit and went to a little independant local club where the instructor was "3rd Dan" in their grading system. Spent the first night kicking him all over the floor. :D

That's what I like about Kendo and Iai. There are no little clubs with their own grading so people are pretty evenly matched and the real differences come out if you put extra hours in.

i think thats out of order. give the guy a break hes only trying to sell something. dont you have to have some manners to become a 9Th dan ninja or whatever you have to be to sell a sword?

IMO his ad is misleading.

They're advertised as Samurai Swords which are "hand built" and "a great collectors piece" implying they're high quality replicas. Fact is you just can't buy a high quality replica for 30-130quid. Then to say you know nothing about them and don't care...

Obviously you have no appreciation for these swords.

Maybe you should try flogging your imitation *rubbish* on Fleabay to the ignorant.

maybe you should get a hobby and stop spamming in threads?:search:

its a piece of metal, get your kicks out of something else! i asked if there was intrest in buying them not for a histoy of the last karate kid!

They look good on a wall, learn Iai or whatever it is dosent make it any more relevent to wheather your intrested or not!

This is MY thread about items im trying to sell, if you wana talk about your swords then start your own thread.

as for immatation? well duh but every single sword made since the 1st 1 is a immatation!

it doesnt make you any more impressive if you go out and spend 10,000 on a sword! waste of money if you ask me, i dont know to many samuri's right now:rolleyes:

I've rewritten your post. If you buy a dictionary all your posts could look like this.

..and next week, children, we'll be looking at the apostrophe.

Oh ps thats a terrible sentance.

.. should only be used when quoting from the middle of a sentance of text

Or if not quoting you dont start a sentance with and.

Oh and there shouldn't be an apostrophe after week:d

Sentence spelt incorrectly.

Sentence spelt incorrectly.

Or if not quoting you dont start a sentance with and.
Missing apostrophe in don't, a third incorrect spelling of sentence and you can start a sentence with And

STARTING A SENTENCE WITH A CONJUNCTION

In the past, schools were rigid in their ruling that sentences could not start with conjunctions, such as "And" or "But". However, nowadays, this practice is considered acceptable.

The two most common conjunctions used in this way are "And" (meaning "In addition") and "But" (meaning "However"). It is usual to follow each with a comma.

Whilst it is acceptable to use "And" or "But" to start a sentence, this practice should be limited and only used for effect and impact. If you find yourself using them too often, you should consider changing the style of your writing.

Oh and there shouldn't be an apostrophe after week:d
Actually, that's a comma.
