Steering wheel lose?

My aftermarket momo steering wheel seems to wobble a little.

After taking off all the little alan key nuts that hold the wheel cover in place i noticed that the nut in the center was a bit lose. I tried to tighten it but it keeps on turning. After a while i realised the thread on it was completly shot so the nut's not really doing much - i took this off. The steering wheel is still attatched - but i don't know how and the wobble remains - I'm guessing that the nut would tighten things up? but if not - what else should i be looking for and how is the wheel still atatched?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Craig.

Is the thread on the steering column OK?

If it's just the nut that's stripped you need to get the steering wheel off and run a die up the thread on the steeing column to clean it up, then refit the wheel with a new nut.

If it's all damaged, then its a new steering column, I'm afraid :(

Don't even think about bodging it with glue or welding it in place. This is one area of the car that has to be "right"

The last thing you want is for the wheel to come off while you're driving
