Homer
Question... Is it possible to get a shift light indicator (A FLASHING RED LED) installed on the rev counter? Easily done, there's plenty of units available (Think they simply read the rpm signal). If you want to use one of the stock lights then its just a case of wiring it in. Perhaps someone like Carlos can easily do this (good business idea for you there mate )
carl0s
What I meant was, install it within the Rev counter on the stock gauge cluster. Perhaps someone like Carlos can easily do this (good business idea for you there mate ) I'm useless at anything remotely custom! Look at the 'bracket' I made to hold that thing in place - it's terrible. Because it's jammed in there though it is just fine. The gauge is actually screwed to the bracket because the PCI card metal bracket/plate had an L-shaped fixing coming off it. I am pleased though. I wish I could find the manual for the thing now though. I'm not sure if "FL" means "no input from sensor" (which is fine.. as they're not connected yet), or "low current". I would like to disable the Temp sensor functionality too, otherwise it's going to constantly display "FL" in the lower half. If that's the case then I'll just have to fit another connector and wire-in the temp sensor too. Anyway, Imi, in answer to your question.. I would expect a shift-light indicator to come with a simple LED on a cable. You could just drill a small hole in the RPM dial face and mount the LED there. Drill a hole in the back of the cluster to run the wire out to the unit. Couldn't be simpler I shouldn't think.
