Havard
I had a dream that I was eating a huge marshmallow!! I woke up and the pillow was gone!! Seriously though, me and the missus have both had violent dreams where we have been angry and lashed out. About 7 years ago I shouted "Slag" and punched her in the side of the face. About four years ago, she went mental and woke me up slapping my repeatedly. She claimed she'd dreamed that I was unfaithful and was half asleep when she did it. She still doesn't know that I made mine up and smacked her because I was bored!! (Kidding) H.
Mike B
I did have a very strange one after uni. Had broken up with a long term girlfriend from uni for about a month, when I had a nightmare that I had got up for a drink, gone into the bathroom and looked into the mirror. My eye was sliced through the middle and opened like a peeling onion.. I woke up in a cold sweat. 2 days later I found out that the same night as my dream my ex had been take to hospital by the rest of the house, in painful hysteria, complaining of increadible pain in her eye. She was checked out, no signs of trauma, and released.. strange but very much true. I do have a long and boring science explanantion (a part time science boff), but it had me scratching my head! Tannhauser
Who subscribes to the "If you hit the floor in a dream you'll really die" theory then? Not Karl Popper and not me.

More likely worring about cleaning out my dessicated fridge!, but thanks for sharing that with me, at least I now have some warning to flick the channel before seeing that.... that's horrific! Not only that, but Mr. Search tells me that it's the first thread on .net ever to mention 'Un Chien Andalou'. Honestly, you never know what you'll find on here. AlanM
I have a reoccurring dream about being in my grandma's kitchen on a stool and falling off, only to wake just before I hit the floor. I wonder what that is, your brain shutting down or something? Nah, just your spirit coming back in to your body after some celetial travelling
Ewen
I can drive incredibly fast in dreams, but can only run in slow motion.
Conrad
Man I wish I could have Lucid dreams - that would be the bollox. I read somewhere once that listening to someone telling you their dream is about as interesting as listening to someone telling you their drug experiences. I always try not to 'bore' anyone with either but just can't help it. Dreams are class, I surprise myself with how my brain can think up of such complete randomness. bondango
I have lucid dreams sometimes. In my opinion, lucid dreaming is one of the most amazing things that you can experience. I have had about a dozen in my lifetime. Unfortunately, training yourself to deliberately have lucid dreams is crazy difficult - a lifetime's obsession for some people. I'm just pleased to have at least mastered some skills for identifying and prolonging the lucidity. I just don't have the time and patience to commit to working at it like it did when I was a student. On average i slept around 2-3hrs per day. Of late, i have started to get more sleep, a good 12hrs last night which was the 1st decent sleep in around 3 years. One of the reasons im getting sleep now is because of lucid dreaming Techniques, not lucid dreams but the techniques used to control dreams as i suffer badly from Sleep paralysis (me and my best mates have been suffering it for around 15 yrs now but theres probably a good reason for that ). Dont know if anyone on here suffers from it (guess theres a few) but i would honestly say to look into lucid dreaming techniques a bit, it has definetely my whole sleeping pattern. And if anyone dosnt know what Sleep paralysis is, imagine a really bad nightmare, but your fully awake and have no control of your body - basically paralysised for a breif 30-80 seconds which feels like a life time, and when you come through it, your usually screaming and punching whilst gasping for breath

Luckily I knew what it was because I used to be heavily into reading stuff on UFOs and alien abduction experiences, and sleep paralysis is one of the main theories that might explain the "bedroom visitation" phenomenon. Apparently your mind can also make up hallucinations to fill in the details of what might be happening to you, which usually includes feelings of dread, and a "presence" in the room, restraining you. Anyway, I woke up one morning (hey - sounds like a blues song ) in the small hours and just before opened my eyes I because aware that I was fully awake but couldn't move, and I had a feeling like a massive weight was on my chest, pressing me into the bed. I remember thinking to myself "Just hang on, you know what this is. It'll be over soon but whatever you do don't open your eyes!" The feeling passed in a few seconds and I've never had it since. Thats exactly the nature of it, but it becomes a different monster when you open your eyes during it. Some people can actually control what they see and feel during it and can make it into a unreal experiance, others like me, just find themselves being hurled towards the nearest wall at a million miles an hour before stopping dead and realising they are sitting up in bed lol
