SupraStar 3000
We have a 'Dispute Resolution' thread, so why not a positive thread for outstanding service and workmanship by traders, infact,..doesn't even need to be exclusively for traders. Why not include acts of kindness and advice by fellow members. Often seen members giving away free stuff, and today received a series of fantastic PMs from SupraAyf offering help and advice which made me think of all the other examples of club spirit I have encountered over the past few years in this club. So I believe we need a thread to share all the positive stories and show others why this is the best car forum in the world.

Glosphil
Yeah, but only if people cant reply in it, every good work thread I've made has ended with people slating them. So good idea, but no replies.

So good idea, but no replies. Even though a newbie, have to say sadly it seems to happen a lot on the other hand, some decent minded chap steps in further on to vouche for their good deed

SupraStar 3000
how can it be a disaster if only the thread author, mods and maybe (if possible) person(s) credited can reply?

mawby
It is certainly possible, but I'm not sure it would surve as good a purpose as the dispute resolution forum. The dispute forum is simply to warn others of problem traders/members but is also an attempt to force those members/traders to sort the dispute. I don't think an outstanding service/club spirit would be as useful. Doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice for those members on the receiving end though. Maybe I could hack the private debates code (used to make the disputes forum work) a little more so that you get a beer token for every thread created about you. Then people can see just what a jolly nice chap or chapess someone is. EDIT - Beer tokens would then be displayed like an iTrader score. RobSheffield
Could the beer tokens be exchanged for actual like...beer?
SupraStar 3000
humm,, maybe. Don't think it needs over-complicating though boss. If people abuse the section then close it down.

Pabs
on a serious note, very similar to the trader rating, on other forums, we have the same thing, but kinda like a user score - the more posts they make (in USEFUL forums) the higher their score gets. I think they were called "reputation" points. If people felt that a post or a good deed was done, they'd leave + reputation - if bad then they left -. Same theory as ebay score. Worked quite well - and certainly weeded out the abusers as everyone could see their low/bad score, and eventually they just disappeared or where banned. Anyway, each forum to their own But just a thought.
