I belive i'm missing price of this stuff somehow

You can have one of those for around 220 - 240 pounds, if you decide to set it up from parts. I'm talking about almost same configuration but with 1 GB RAM, ASUS mainboard, AMD CPU and mini case.

I need to buy someting already built and ready to work.

why not just get a normal tower!

Like a HP dx2200m, if you can fit those parts into a small form factor then they will fit in a tower, and a tower is cheaper!

check http://www.insight.com for some nice cheap prices on HP kit.

Sorry to be a numpty, but we have little or no knowledge of this type of thing and was hoping to have a link that just says "buy this" :D

Not always - take a look on TV card they offer to CJ, you wouldn't fit it into normal tower. Anyway, you can get really nice mini tower and fit all equipment into it anyway. I bought my for 35 pounds with power supply and it is really small one :)

Is space an issue ? if it isn't i don't see the need for a small form factor PC, they tend to be hard to upgrade and some of the parts are bespoke to the case.

You don't specify what the pc needs to do in its day to day life, that may help people to recommend something suitable for you.

The HP has been quoted at £520 exc vat

That's really expensive I would say. Try to PM Pete maybe, he is sitting in IT bussiness and I belive he will offer something cheaper. I would have to check, what I can get on our local computer market, would set it up for you, but guarantee would be a problem as I can do it as a private person.

I thought i had said in the first post?

It is going to be used to drive a software package that will then drive graphics etc on a flat screen TV for training and prsentation use.

Oi - never mind chatting. We have money to spend here! :D

I've asked one of my sales guys to look into this HP/Compaq unit for you and a bespoke Midland Computers build. I don't handle the hardware side of things here and want to make sure I get it right for you! :D

The trick will be fitting that full size PCI card in it. Most home built MicroATX form factor boards don't have riser card support you see.

This is where your price premium comes from. :(

How many units were you thinking? Is that HP in the link the correct spec, as there's ten different ones in that dc7600 range.

It is just one unit Pete. Apparently, that is the link sent by the software people as a recceomended unit to work with their offering.

I belive that your hardware guy will have no problem to find something of size of Asrock K8NF4G - SATA2 with nice AMD CPU, 1 GB Kingston RAM, 80 - 100 GB SATA HDD and simple TV card to send signal to flat TV. There is few nice small square ASUS cases with handle avaliable nowdays and I belive this set will be more than enough for CJ's needs anyway - it is just presentation computer! Oh and DVD recorder of course!
