Ive just won a nitrous kit on ebay but the guy has just emailed me saying he cant let it go for the price that i bidded?

This was his email -

Im really sorry mate i did put a reserve price but it didnt come up for some reason. I cant let u have it for this price.

Where do i stand? Im assuming the only thing i can do is submit bad feedback?

*sigh* it's a shame the fools are killing eBay like this :(

You could go through the eBay dispute process but it won't get you anywhere, bad feedback is your only option I guess, the problem is he'll probably do the same back.

I've gone from ~50 eBay transactions a week to one a month at the most thanks to people like this, it's not worth the hassle anymore.

Yep hes totally in the wrong, He should have known his reserve price wasn't on the listing in the first place. What gets me is that if it was you who had said "ahhh damn I bid too much mate I cant afford it at that price" he would be going off on one saying its in the rules you have to pay blah blah blah its a legally binding contract blah blah I'm a wanker... rant over I hate ebay.

I'd tell him its legally binding and he has to sell it to you for the price you won it at. otherwise report the tosser to ebay, not that that'll get you anywhere

Problem is you leave him neg feedback and he will then leave you the same so you cant win.Best to just forget it.

If you want to get even , wait until he relists it , wait until the auction is about to end then put a big bid on it.You could then email him and say you entered a incorrect bid amount

Yeh do that :eyebrows:

+ the fact that in his ad, from his end, he would see - "your reserve price of XXX has not been met"

For him only to realise the reserve wasn't put on correctly by end of auction is just silly.

Tell him to poke it up his lowest orifice, as far as it will go.

Try ebay dispute. If no luck, leave it for about 89 days*, then leave him negative feedback.

* - i think that if you haven't left feedback within 90 days, you are unable to leave feedback at all. This will stop him leaving negative for you.

He will not give a toss about his feedback as he has none. What the hell is the deal with that user name as well :). Sorry but alarm bells would be ringing for me on this one. I would be surprised if you got the full kit and that it was 'slightly' used.

Steer clear and get it from a more trustworthy person IMO

The only problem is he lives on the isle of white and its a bit of a trek from where i live so i would really prefer postage. Thats why i asked if c.o.c was possible to see if this was a problem and he said it wasnt. Im getting him to contact me via phone as im still a bit concerned with the 0 feedback. He does seem like a genuine bloke but i guess they all do. Thats why i asked about my paypal payment....
