DaveK
I'm not sure it can even claim to centre around cars these days. There are cars in it - but they are certainly not the main focus.
Supradoopa
Loved it! For those that complained, its an entertainment program now that centres around cars. Its not there to educate you, its there to make you laugh Great words Homer, maybe you should all go watch fifth gear , then you'll realise why Top Gear is a work of art

No there not but i think thats why its so popular, top gear for me features too many supercars for it to be any use to the average motorist. Another reason why its so popular that tho as everyone likes to dream.
Ewen
Kept me happy for an hour, not that thats particularly difficult.
Trig
I thought it made a nice change to a supercar going round a track every week, seeing if it can get the best time...... Not that im against that but just thought it was a nice change
Guest StevenSheen
one of the best episodes I have ever sen was really funny and a cool glimpse of Americana....Big stig
Charlotte
I thought it was alright. Not massively exciting but mildly amusing. The cow incident didn't bother me particularly. It had obviously been run over so was dead anyway. A lot worse happens to animals in abattoirs.
Gazboy
A BBC sound recorder (who has worked on TG before) is a member of PH- just said that the hick scene was very real indeed.
Kopite
Was hilarious i thought, can imagine the Americans going mad about it, expecting lots of complaints about homophobia etc too, thought the roadkill was a bit gross though. Top Gear has moved on from it's early days, it's not meant to be educational anymore, it's primetime entertainment and it works
rik
I thought it was great entertainment. Those three guys are all brilliant, and they work very well together. Sure there was no facts and stats about cars etc, i'm sure manufacturers have that sort of info on the web somewhere if you want to know what mpg the latest mpvs are getting. I think that episode was a good fantasy for all petrol heads, choosing a car and driving across country on an adventure. Don't forget it's repeated at 7.00pm on wednesday. I'll probably watch it again

Conrad
There are going to be complaints about the roadkill bit - will be interesting to see what Supraforums thinks of it too, the torrent should be up in an hour or so... Is TG popular in the States too then? I know it's supposed have viewers in the hundred of millions world wide but couldn't see it being all that popular in America. Afterall it's so anti American and they constantly take the piss out of their cars.

Edit- It'll be shown 6 hours later Eastern Time on Cable.
silvershark44
Lol it was such a funny episode. It amazes me how they turn a motoring show into such a universal family program.
RobSheffield
Damn, i missed it - was it the repeat or is that later in the week?
markjodrell
Damn, i missed it - was it the repeat or is that later in the week? This was the first showing so should be repeated later this week, not sure when though. If you have NTL you should be able to watch it from pick of the week
MARTIN R
Thought it was a class episode, inspired me to take a road trip and eat a rare burger:d
martin_a
Thought it was good and if there are no new cars to review it is good to be different. Loved Fat Stig and the truckdrivers "i'm a headin' north, its rainin' an i'm lookin' fer a whooore!" Would have liked some facts on actually doing it though. They had no license tags on the cars and i wondered about insurance too as it is something i would like a go at but obviously wouldn't want to do illegally. m. miko_supra
Yeah i imagine there will be people moaning about the dead cow Fantastic episode though although i prefer the usual TG set up Learnt a few things from the programme, like just how underpowered these big old american v8's are, and how much of a mess new orleans is still in.
