It sounds obvious that she was trying to make you jealous. Had you told that particular friend that you liked her? Perhaps you should be disappointed with him for moving in on your potential date? I'm sure you'll find someone else, and by all accounts (being that she was a couple of years younger/in a younger school year) someone with a little more maturity.
