moistfinger
As you may or may not know I have been trying to sell my Supe.http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=97729 All was ok until I had a PM from a Club Member asking me if the Supe was for sale at the price I had it advertised on the forum or the price it was advertised for on ebay. I returned the PM saying that I did not have it on ebay, but would check anyway. You can imagine my horror when I looked on ebay only to find that my car was being advertised there. The scammer had copied my advert from the auto trader (word for word) and was now advertising for sale as his own.I immediately informed ebay via their reporting form and posted up on all forums warning of this scam.http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=98754 This was on 06/02/07 , it is now 09/02/07 and the advert is still live on ebay!!!!! I have now sent around 10 e-mails to ebay informing them of this scam , K14 SUP (Steve) has reported it to them through the police channels. But still nothing has been done by ebay!!!!!!!!! I received this from ebay yesterday morning: Dear Richard, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about seller "tony22marley" who you feel is fraudulently offering sales. We have reviewed the eBay member you have brought to our attention and taken the appropriate action. It is important to bear in mind that not all actions we take are visible to the reporter or may not be visible immediately. However let me assure you that we fully investigate each report and take the necessary action. Breaches of eBay's policies can lead to consequences that range from issuing the seller an informational alert, ending the listing(s), moving the listing(s) to a more appropriate category, a temporary suspension, an indefinite suspension or terminating the membership. I understand that you may want to know what action we may have taken on the seller's account. However, for reasons of privacy I cannot disclose any further information to you. This is for the protection of all eBay members. If you would like to report this seller for our image and/or text theft policy please feel free to reply to this message with the following information: 1. The item number of the listing that you are reporting 2. The item number of a listing that you posted on eBay demonstrating the seller copied your image(s) or description(s) We appreciate your vigilance in helping us to keep inappropriate listings off eBay. Kind regards, Amy Lynch eBay Trust & Safety What action!!!!? The advert is still on ebay 3 days after reporting the scam. It's not just the fact that my car is being fraudulently advertised on ebay that pisses me off. It's the fact that innocent people could be getting conned out of hundreds of pounds for a car that does not exist. AND EBAY DON'T GIVE A SHIT!!!!! OK!. Rant over (taking a deep breath and thinking happy thoughts)
