TLicense
I'm lining myself up for some new wheels. Now I know exactly what tyre size I need for my 18X8's all round that I have currently on the car, but am open to suggestions for appropriate tyre sizes for these new wider wheels. Any suggestions? (As an aside, I was thinking, would it be worth getting someone who is appropriately armed with enough knowledge on the subject to come up with a table of suitable tyre sizes for wheel sizes. It's just that I see when searching that that tyre sizes have been raised a billion times, it's just difficult to trawl through to find the info you want though)
Pixelfill
might be of some use Tony http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles/tyre_bible.html direct to the tyre size calculator http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles/tyre_bible.html#20060701 Mike
TLicense
Cheers Mike, I had seen that site, but got blinded by information before I got that far! Anyway, so I recon I'll want the following:- 255/35/18R on the fronts & 285/35/18R on the backs. Sound about right?
Bobbeh
You might get some rubbing with 285/35s.
Nick
I used: 245/40/18R fronts 275/35/18R backs. I worked out these gave the closest to stock rolling radius, and they fitted the rims perfectly. No clearance issues with slightly lowered suspension either.

I would agree with this as i did the same with my 19's (profile) i used 35 front and 30 backs to stay close to the original rolling radius

Dragonlady
All down to offset whether you get rubbing. Try to keep an offset af at least 45 on the rears or you will have to do some arch work.
mikeyb10supra
Might be worth dropping CW a line...although im quite sure he will tell you to use lexus 18"s if you can get them or stock 17" Im currently debating this as well Tony, wondering if the single kit im currently building will overpower the stock 17" I currently have
TLicense
OK so what's the difference between these two tyres? This has a load rating of 93 and has VSB runout (what does the VSB bit mean?) http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/reifenbestellen.pl?typ=D39124&dsco=10 This one has a load rating of 97 and has XL runout (what does the XL mean?) http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/reifenbestellen.pl?typ=R-132172&dsco=10 Do you guys think a Load rating of 93 (apparently 650kg) is enough?
