Surely though- if it's pinned it'll be ok won't it?

It'll be fine ;)

As I said, my GTR has the aerodynamics of a brick and that was fine at 150 leptons with pins fitted :D

Well I've been to see it and it does flex a fair amount but it seems to be well made as per pointers in this thread- ie skins look well joined etc.

Problem is I don't like the way it looks with the rest of the kit- gutted. So I think I'm gonna sell it anyway and fork out for a custom one

And i had MASSIVE row with one of the owners of the bodyshop. I wish I'd recorded it, it was hilarious! ******* twat :twak:

You kinda had to be there, TBH it wasn't funny at the time.

They basically told me I couldn't have my car back until November because I would take it to shows and they want me to wait for next year.

Actually, thats not true, the guy working on it didn't (in fact he walked off presumably coz he was disgusted and later said he wouldn't stop working on it), the other owner did.

I basically told them to **** off and it all kicked off. Not pretty.

But I won't get into it in the technical section.

Gaz.

Like Keith my stock bonnet has never lifted at speed.

Rosie they are taking the piss with your car, at the rate they are working at the moment I cant even see it being finished by November.

I mean it took them 14 months just to get half the kit on, let alone finish to perfection and paint etc. However you've let them know your not happy and your kepping the pressure on them so thats all you can really do.

Just think of it as an ongoing project and enjoy seeing it coming along in stages, it will be done eventually.

I've found the stock one to lift at speed too. It's not too apparent from inside the car, but next time you're level with one at high speed, look across.

When I got my first Supra, I was traveling up a dual carriage way near me, and I could see a friend some distance in front. I floored it to catch him, and overtook him at about 140ish. He was immediately on the phone to me panicing that my bonet was about to flip, so we both stopped to have a look, it was firmly down. We couldn't even get our fingures uner the fron lip to try to lift it....

Can't explain how, but they do lift at speed. :conf:

Anyway, Rosie, since that worrying experience, (and after driving Dudes car at speed), I didn't want a fibreglass bonnet, so I asked Steve M to get his scissors out... :D

Rosie mate

U seem to be having the same luck as I ´m having with my biz when it comes to yer soop.. U have a very delicate and annoying case.

Its no good us telling u to do this or that to them, I know u got ties with this place for this whole project. Thanks to the Mexicans, I know the feeling of shafting too :p :D U pay for somink then when the job is done u wind up with somink completely different.

I paid 2 to 3 times for almost everything i had done here ..hehehe

Good luck mate and dont hate yer car coz of twats ! its a beautifull car n´should be handled by pros not pirates whether its for parts or fitting. Unfortunately there are too many of those around.

;)
