when i had my 206 i took a wrc spoiler to the shop i bought the car from because they were peugeot had they said yep dead easy gave me a quote of £120 then phoned me up 2 days later and said we have sprayed it but we we cant fit it and that we want £100 for spraying it, i said no see the job through and finish it, they said it will spoil the car and not look good so i then said just do it coz it will cost extra to get it fitted else where they then did the job and when i went to pick the car up they wouldnt give me the car until i paid £210 then a couple of weeks later the spoiler started to crack at where it was clamped to the car and they said if we do it, it wont be a garenteed job so i told them to leave it i am going to tradeing standards, in the end i took it off myself and put the rear window through in the progress because of the shitty job but i had the car put right in 3 hrs just in time for the wife to get home from work and she didnt know any different. the garage i used was OVAL OF WESTBURY and what a bunch twats

i know what you are going through and it aint nice, take Paul Es advice and fuck them off look for some one who can do the job properly and to a high standard

good luck

Guys, it might seme like the simplest solution from the outside, but she can't simply take the car away - we've been through it a bazillion times. If she could don't you think she would have done so months ago?

She just needs something stiff under her bonnet. :innocent:

darren- thanks!

also, hold on a sec, i know they've been total dicks about time scales and they talk out of their arses etc etc but (and i'm not saying it won't happen) but theres NEVER been a question over the quality of their work. It would appear that this is working the other way, they're WORRIED abotu fitting it, not supplying me with it and saying I should use it. I'm confused now :(

I'm sure you could sort out any flex with a few strips or rods of metal...however this may be more work then you want to do to it.

This is definately something ill be looking into, the propper TRD bonnets have alu support under the fiberglass, but not even the best copies have this.

Loosing or having a bonet open on you when youre doing daft speeds can NOT be a pleasant experience!!!

I'll be having bonnet pins on a f'glass bonnet anyway, so surely as long as thye're secure and the hinge things at the back are secure then surely it'll be fine? But then I'm no bonnet expert.

Thanks again to Neil for coming round, I know what I'm dealing with now when I see mine tomorrow.

Green- don't you bloody dare!

Rosie if you wanna see how frightening a FG bonnet can be come for a spin in mine , anything over 100 and its bowing in the middle about 150 i reckon its lifted up an inch 1/2 way up the wings , with the needle off the clock you dont want to know , thats why i prefer going fast at night , cause i cant see what the bonnets doing !!!:stupid:

I have a aftermarket bonnet and its terrible! Anything over say about 80 and you can see it flexing in the middle and lifting at the sides, even when you are doing about 50 and a truck comes pass you the other way the wind from the truck seriously makes the bonnet flap and also like from what they are saying about yours when you prop it up using the bar you can see it flex down on the right hand side as there is no strength in it at all!!! Its almost embarassing to drive at high speeds especially when going against someone as god knows what they must think when the see it.

Agree with dude, prefer driving at nightime so you cant see it!! :D

I was thinking about strengthing it up as well...
