Wazz72
Just changed the dials again. Used a spoon to remove the temp, and fuel needles. put them back on where they were, put the dash back and turned on the ignition, and the bloody fuel gauge started to drop from just under 1/2 a tank to 0. does anybody know what this is, and how to get it back to 1/2 a tank. I know Supras drink fuel, but half a tank in 2 mins is a bit much seems I didn't even touch the accelerator.

R Black
I take it you had problems getting the el glo dials over the needles?
Wazz72
Yup, Ive managed to slide the dials over the speedo and rev counter, as there is only 1 dial, but I had to remove the other 2 to get the dial on. Yes Im pretty sure the plugs are in correctly .
merckx
I had this exact problem too, what a pain in the arse. I got it working eventually but I don't know exactly how. You've got to make sure the needle spindle isn't catching, I pulled off and fitted the needle loads of times until it worked correctly. Just trial and error really, fitting it with the ignition on and off.
R Black
Did you guys glue your dials down? I had problems as there was a big dollop of glue(someones previous repair or are they all like that?) around the stop pin on the speedo, which made the dial ride up & catch the needle. Well worth it tho, think they're a huge improvement on the originals.
Wazz72
No Glue, Double Edge Tape in small squares. But it still don't solve my problem. It was half full until i turned on the ignition.
R Black
My fuel guage read wrong for a few mins afterwards then seemed to corrected itself.
Supra ST Myster
you dont have to take the needles off to install the glow dials, but since you have you have probably put the needle back on wrong, as if you move the fuel gauge while doing this, when you apply power back on the gauge cluster the fuel gauge will correct itself, so you may have knocked it up, fitted the needle back on where you thought it was origanally, then cause its actually higher it will start to go down, the only thing you can do now, is fill up right to the top, take the needle off, switch the car on and leave it on for 5mins, (as the fuel gauge takes forever to read the fuel first time after fill up) the fit the needle back on so it pointing at the F, then it should be fine.. Guigsy
is there a big pool of liquid and a funny smell coming from under the car?
merckx
you dont have to take the needles off to install the glow dials. I don't know if the facelift ones are different, but I had to remove mine. They won't slip over the needles .

R Black
Has anyone got a spare fuel/temp glow dial ?? Bit of a long shot i know? Why do u need just those? I ask as i fitted mine and that cluster is not lit, i've not had time to take it apart to check everything yet.
TT-DEK
I damaged this and have only the 2 working? Don,t want to buy a full set, so only need the right, fuel/temp one?
Wazz72
Good Idea, why dont I run the car out of petrol and put it on E? Will save me about £70 if there is a hole in the tank.
Wazz72
I have a spare set of 3 Glo Dials looking for around £30. The only problem is the speedo is marked in KPH but is actually in MPH
Wazz72
Done it now cost about £40 to fill from just below half, more of my sanity, and about an hour of my life. Why the hell are the cables so short behind the clock clusters?
