Scoboblio
With all this talk of severe weather and a few inches of snow, our company has decided that the best course of action is some good old fashioned panicking planning for getting people onsite tomorrow morning. For instance if you usually take a train, you can book a taxi (which surely won't be able to get through either), otherwise it's a hotel room inside London's square mile. Anyone else think that's a bit paranoid, or does it sound like a good idea?
DaveK
I'm taking my laptop home tonight and if there is severe snow I'll work from home tomorrow.

Ian W
paranoia mate, it's just bloody crazy. first sign of snow and it's panic stations. the media don't help either as they hype it up even worse than it is. fact is, anything that London get will likely be similar to what Scotland normally gets.....what do we do? certainly not book a hotel for god's sake lol
grahamc
laptop home is good. but unless we have a full on blizzard I got no excuse. I have 7 minute walk to get to work. where is all this snow predicted for?

Stonkin
If it does properly snow (which i hope as i love it, but it has to be proper deep snow, not a little shower) then i'll either work from home or use the astra with crappy front tyres, thats what its for
Ark
My lots idea of "planning" for the weather is to say "Can you get up a little earlier in the morning tomorrow?" Sure, because an extra half an hour will make ALL the difference in 6 inches of snow.

scooby_doo_do
i find it funny that if wew get a few inches of snow everything stops... I'll walk to the station 20mins, get on a train (That'll be delayed due to frost on the line or some other crap) then walk 15mins over to cannon street. It was dam cold at 5:30 this morning walking to the station thats for sure!

Scoboblio
Your company make excellent profits Yup, they do. Unfortunately they also don't see any problem with expecting people to sacrifice their home life / family for a little while in order to maintain it.... other people that is.
