Guest Nicholas
you don't legally have to see a "cost of living" rise each year, most companies give one though..
martin_a
Its legal not to give you a rise but you need to find out why. You want at least a rise in line with inflation or you are technically working for less money this year. Time to hit the recruitment ads. m. Konrad
I'm getting pay rise every 2 years apparently, when T&G threating my company with walk-out Next one in 9 months
michael
is it legal to not give people some kind of percentage pay rise every year? The last company I worked for gave up pay cuts and reduced working hours... and then redundancy... these days I welcome the opportunity to stay on the same salary or accept what may be considered a tiny increase... if it's any more than this I'm chuffed to bits. cookci
my pay rise is performance based apparently! lol If our store doesnt start doing better im going to be on for a 1% rise!!! Seems like a bit of an insult to me. If the store does ok i get 3% and 5% if it runs perfectly! There are no stores in the area which do that
Pete
Sounds fair to me. Performance related pay. The company does well, you do well.
Alex
We get 0% if we're being shit...or upto 7% if you've kissed a lot of arse...I'm going for 7.5% lol
Mike
I find getting another job and then telling them helps quite a lot

DaveK
In England it's legal. In Finland they have to be given a cost of living rise.
