So i'm guessing its the same trouble as the fd rx's have (my dads got one of these :D ) you loose the pre and main cats and the wastegate isn't big enough to vent off the larger amounts of exhaust gas. Therefore causing boost creep.

I presume ported wastegate is a little expensive for the situation and to be honest, although i know the twin sequential on an rx like the back of my hand, i have absolutely no idea how it works on a supra, would like to find a diagram of the system but i can't.

Incedently, some of the rx guys fit a "pop-off valve" to their cars, its like a bov but preset to a pressure to prevent overboost or damage from boost creep.

Well i've got tyres being put on tomorrow at £158 each for 235/40 18's (rang everywhere, all were cheaper but none could sort me for tomorrow:mad: ).

Hopefully the guy is going to have a go at fitting the restrictor ring at the same time. After that a friend working in a local garage is checking the tracking and alignment.

..........I think I want my corrado back:looney:

Yes, that's exactly the same problem. Only tends to affect the j-spec supra as the uk-spec has a larger waste gate as standard.

Check this link out for a diagram of the turbo system.

I get what you're saying DB, I'm a bit limited for choice out here in the sticks.

Tyres have to be changed now to make her safe to drive and then i can take the car down to cousin-Jerimia, who's pretty nifty with a ball of string and plastic 12" ruler.

Mitcheldever uses laser, but they also have mirrors, the mirrors are bolted onto the wheels, and the laser bounces off of them. Should we be running from these setups ?????

Ashley, my problem stems from having a car that is very low therefore serious compromises are involved.

I can feel CW shaking his head at some of the low set-ups some of us run.

Unfortunately, I bought it this way not knowing any better. I guess its a case of change tyres more frequently or spend a handsome wedge on a more suitable suspension set-up.

To be honest I reckon laser alignment wouldn't solve all my problems.
