If your selling it, Toyota, if you keeping it RPS Street Disc Sport :)

We have both available within a couple of days...

Gaz.

Whats the diff between the sport and max clutches - how much power would they hold ? say on a small single turbo ?

Thanks mate

Inc VAT, sorry havent looked into any other details as the prices came through to me as I was reading the thread and noticed nothing had been added about prices.

Hi there mr keefe

Just saw your post re your clutch.

I just replaced mine about 6 weeks ago.

Let me tell you, its a real pain in the ass trying to find a supra clutch here in ireland.

You guys in the uk have moch more choice.

Anyway I put a lot of time into researching clutches of various types.

A lot of it depends on what you want from the car.

I drive mine every day of the week, so I wanted one that was not an on-off switch, as some of the multi plated jobs are.

if you want a daily driver then a near stock is probably the best,

although tilton in the uk do a triple plate that feels like stock.

Bit pricey at about $5000.00 though.

I ended up going for a straight replacement and living with the fact that its not gonna put up with a beating. Just so I didnt ruin the driving experience for myself.

I think the choices then are all single plated ones

The stock clutch is quite good. I would have bought an rps sport if I could have gotten it in a reasonable amount of time. ( The joys of owning a supra in Ireland.)

A TRd single plate is also very good. They are made by a company called exceedy I think.

If you want something that is competition or close, then maybe a trd twin plate or an hks twin plate may be the answer.

Most twin plate clutches come with a lightened flywheel.

Hks twin plate to buy here in ireland costs about €1700.00, without fitting costs.

You should consider the possibility that your flywheel may need to be replaced. Takes a lot of abuse.

Rps also do a lightened flywheel.

Keep the costs of this in mind as you may need one.

If money is an issue, was for me at the time as well, I would live with a standard 3 piece clutch (ie clutch, cover and bearing) with a few quid spare for a flywheel just in case.

There may be others here who can expand on this, and who have more info. I am still learning. The above is how it panned out for me.

Hope its of some small assistance.

John

 Cheers for that John i'v been thinking about this and had many opinions from different people and most of them have said go with stock unless ya going for big power, the only issue i had was that my j spec tt was fine until i raised the boost to 14psi and i got slip straight away, mabye the clutch is getting on a bit i dont know but i didnt wana put a stock clutch in to find that when i raise the boost to 16psi that it slips, all i have is zigen5 zorst decated, trust airfilter, and the boost up to 14-16psi.I use the car everyday and i want it realiable so as for big power that wont be something i'll be looking at for a while( thats if i do decide to keep the car).So i think stock its gona be :D

As my PM a stock will be fine.

We do the RPS too and great prices and also have them ( I will do you a deal if that helps), but I see no reason at your level of tune. As I also said in the PM check the flywheel too

If it's done a fair few miles mate i would say there is a pretty good chance. Whilst the clutch is out it makes sense to change it, but they aren't cheap.
