imi
what's the benefit of having coilovers for daily driving on normal roads?
jamesmark
Also consider Koni's or Billies with Eibachs. They are probably the best set up before you go to coilovers. Contact Nic he will sort you out with prices for both.

Pot
what's the benefit of having coilovers for daily driving on normal roads? I'd thought the benefit of coilovers was to either fit large wheels, or to be able to customise most of the settings of your suspension... If your cars for 99% road use, is there any extra value in getting them?...
albundy68
coilovers are a fair bit lighter, and take up less space under arches, (for wider wheels). JIC magic coilovers are the best all rounders if you can find a set. the longevity of the HKS ones is debatable, and theyre very stiff even on softest setting i have heard. tein are very good from what ive heard too. shame the electronic adjustment only does stiffness not height else theyd be ideal for speedbumps. Wez
I have JIC FLT-A2s which are not ideal for every day use.
Gaz Walker
Super Streets with Top mounts or good. If you have a bit more cash, I'd recommend the Mono Flex - these are well suited to UK roads as they 2 valves for low and high speed driving. More details here: http://www.tein.com/mfpdamp.html Regards, Gaz.
Lebsteif
I'm very pleased with my HKS hypermax RS set, but i'm not experienced enough to say that this is the best set for a supra.
VELOCITY
i am going for super streets with top mounts
Nic
coilovers are a fair bit lighter, Coilovers aren't that much lighter, I was lugging around a box of Tein SS today 26.35kg a set including packaging, which is similar to a set of Bilsteins, springs and top mounts. the longevity of the HKS ones is debatable, and theyre very stiff even on softest setting i have heard. I had my HKS Hypermax II's fitted about 5 years ago and they are still going strong tein are very good from what ive heard too. shame the electronic adjustment only does stiffness not height else theyd be ideal for speedbumps. The new Tein coilovers are good, Tein do do height adjustable coilovers but not for the Supra though

Nic
whats the edfc thingy optional with teins? http://www.tein.co.jp/e/products/edfc.html It consists of 4 small motors on the top of each coilover, with an in car electronic controller to adjust the damping remotely. Chiefgroover
H&R have the best spring rates for UK roads. They are about £750 i think. Euro tuned suspension is got to be best for our roads.

pistonbroke
Got mine last week there a nice bit of kit... Yup, I'm liking that, could you do us a favour and give us a run down of what they're like when you get them fitted. I get the feeling my shocks are knackered, they are feeling a bit 'crashy' (sorry, thats the only word I can think to describe it) of late and feel its time for an upgrade.
