I knew it, Chris Wilson said "Get a basic alarm with Central Locking and that's it", but oh no, I forked out for a C650. It's been fine the last few months, couple of blackjax incidents that were my fault and thats it. Today however it's a nightmare. It's never been sensitive before to people walking by etc, but my mate tried to unlock the car and pushed the unlock/lock button on the fob a few times, probably other buttons too and he must of triggered something. It keeps going 'bleep' at a gust of air, nobody near by, cars passing etc. It's gone off 3 times already, never been like this. I've read the manual and can't find out how to turn down sensitivity. Yes I do Chris, but it just sounded so good with all the special features and all Plus, Pete recommended it. I think it's just reset itself. Going to adjust the sensitivity tonight. All is good. Just think, plenty more playing around trying to get my alarm and car to start when I next come to have work done! MOT is in March so may need a checkover beforehand! Thanks. RobSheffield Posted February 5, 2007 Share Posted February 5, 2007 The Clifford is a very complex alarm with a lot of uselful features....it can enter a setup mode if a ham fisted 'mate' tries to mash all the buttons at once. The Cliffords are only ever as good as the fitters, i have seen good installations and i have seen bad ones too. Both my car and my younger brothers have cliffords (IG950 on mine, C650 on his) with absolutely no issues whatsoever since fitment. H, dont base your decision on a couple of problems! Not had any trouble with mine, maybe as I have the installers software and have invested a fair bit of time working out how it all works so it does as it's told now. I do find the proximity sensor is sensitive to different weather temperature. They also don't like metal objects near them (any change in the boxes?) Have you got anything in the glovebox or in the car that reacts to temperature ? I have heard of chewing gum wrappers causing issue. Just go back to the installer and get them to adjust it, job done. Sensitivity bit can be sorted with a little bit of tweaking - apart from that, I'm well impressed with the quality but have to agree on spending the extra to get it fitted professionally. Also, i can ONLY park with the car facing downhill. If i face up hill, the alarm goes off about 2 minutes after i arm it, then i have to turn the car around and park it facing the other direction.... MarkR Posted February 5, 2007 Share Posted February 5, 2007 I do, but i've tried disabling the sensors by pressing the 2 buttons that disable the interior sensors, and then pressing them again which (correct me if i'm wrong) disables the exterior sensors, and no joy. The only way for me to fix the frost problem is to take it for a drive to warm things up, and then park it again (at 4am!!!) Not ideal. The guys who fitted it didn't have the tilt & Motion sensor in stock when they initially installed it, so it was fitted a month or two after.... I only yesterday put loose change in the box after football training and left the screwdriver and 2 nuts in there too after fitting my new horn. I'm such a wanker. I'll try and remove and then see how it goes.! I have had it fitted professionally by an excellent company and like I said, no issues before. Just me being a Twazzok.
