Gamer
They bought our Great British company, 400 British workers just before Gulf War 2. And ever since we've had 'strategic downsizing', 'head count adjustments', 'exit opportunites' and then two weeks ago they decided to close us down. There's only 60 of us Brits left in factory site where at it's peak we had 1,200. [sAD][/sAD] Is that good enough reason? Bring the boys back home. Maybe you would feel better if the French, Germans or maybe even some Russians bought the company. Sorry mate, no sympathy here. It is business if you cannot understand that and hold a grudge against a country because some businessmen ruined your ' Great British company' then you are just being silly. If it was so great then why didn't a British company buy it or save it ?
juanchan
its only the superbowl thats really bad for dragging things out (advertising!)...........even i find it tiresome........ Like most sports its horses for courses but if you only ever watched the superbowl i can see how you could get put off..... BTW i'm biased as i used to play the game, enjoyed it immensely and still miss it............... That would explain a lot then! I've only watched the one game so I guess my view of the sport is rather tainted (and pretty narrow). I find that playing a sport makes it far more enjoyable overall too. Bring on the summer so I can get the Aerobie out again...
CJ
Someone did not have a happy childhood. Don't like it, don't watch. It is simple really. Unless you are a mindless sheep. Did someone say sheep? I love the game myself and tonight is quite special as I have followed the Bears ever since Mike Ditka was coaching and the Refrigerator was smashing! Scooter
I love the game myself and tonight is quite special as I have followed the Bears ever since Mike Ditka was coaching and the Refrigerator was smashing! ........ah the Jim Mcmahon days.......one of the good things about American footy is that there is always the chance of rising back up to the top after years of struggling..............its not like the footy over here where you know one of 4 teams will win the league before a ball has been kicked, and 5-6 teams goal at the start is to just avoid relegation! Just pray they don't come along and buy your company. [GRIN][/GRIN] .

Snooze
As for the game being 'gey' because of the pads well its just plain BS, it just makes things more fast and hard and you can put your head where only the foolish would in rugby (lets not forget its been a gradual take up on the gear, they used to wear soft padded headgear - much the same as the 'front row' rugby guys do now) Well - I think you'll find that the big guys at the front, ARE actually the "gey" ones - they just stand up and play patta-cake while the REAL players behind them play the real game and take the big shots at eachother But hey - American Footballers in general - all that whooping and "butt-slapping". Gotta be a bit dubious, heh?
