edd_t
Dammit! After getting drunk at lunch on Thursday, for my birthday, I somehow manage to get the train home. Am in work today, fun fun, and was looking for my iPod for the journey. Looks like I must have left if on the train, as well as my brand spanking new Shure e2c headphones that only arrived last week. Thats £250 down the drain Also friday night whilst cooking pizza for my mates as I was having a birthday bash at my flat. I managed to pull the oven door off! How much is that gonna cost me??? And during the birthday bash we all decided to go clubbing. on the way home I 'apparently' starting hugging my Supra in the carpark. havnt checked yet but am hoping there are no scratches in the paintwork from my ring/watch/belt buckle! Am never going to drink again

DaveK
I found the biggest incentive to stop drinking was to collapse in an Indian restaurant and (alledgedly) stop breathing. Slightly dubious about that myself - but a couple of people insist that my friends (nurse) wife saved my life. I'm not entirely convinced it was a result of alcohol - I hadn't actually drunk very much and my friends agree about that - but it does mean that I rarely drink at all now - particularly since it happened twice in 5 years (although I didn't stop breathing the first time). I'm no doctor or expert but i do know that some people are allergic to alcohol, maybe you're one of those persons.Have you been to see a doctor? My mum's allergic to alcohol and she hasn't had a drink for 20 years.1 glass of wine used to make her violently ill for a couple of days. After the second time, I had a number of tests done - although not for allergy. Had a tilt table test which was slightly odd - strap you to a table, then tilt it at an angle for 30 mins to see if you pass out. Odd. They didn't find anything - my friends have also suggested some kind of allergy. But it's worked out pretty well really - I didn't drink much before anyway, so it doesn't bother me that much, just means that 90% of the time we go out I don't drink, and 10% of the time I'll have one drink. My g/f has issues with alcohol anyway - her ex drank a lot - so it works out quite well. If I ever decide to split up with her, I think I can avoid all the "should we get back together" sentiments by getting drunk and kicking her dog - that would be the last I ever saw of her!
