Muffleman
I have finally received back the restored data from my computer (lost in house fire). They have sent me 7 burnt DVDs, the files on DVD1 are: BINGDCDI.001 BINGDCDI.002 BINGDCDI.IMG Any idea what software I need to extract this data ? MrRalphMan
Hmmm... You could try Deamon Tools. http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5 They look like ISO files, but not too sure about regarding the .001/2 files. What size are these files? Failing that you will have to ask the company what format they are in. Hope that helps.
Muffleman
What size are these files? BINGDCDI.001 2.1Gb BINGDCDI.002 0.4Gb BINGDCDI.IMG 2.1Gb I did try asking the company and they said they don't know and that I should send the discs back for them to analyse Took them 10 months to send them to me first time round ! Rubbish.

Your raw files? 2) - What validation did they do on the data? Who were the company? Sounds like a load of cock to me.

Pete
I have finally received back the restored data from my computer (lost in house fire). They have sent me 7 burnt DVDs Should they have sent you ones that weren't burned in the fire? It sounds like a spanned set. You could ask them what disk format they use? Alcohol 120% uses the .img file extension, but I don't know if it supports spanning.

Muffleman
Well it just got a little stranger this morning. The disc was still in the drive, fired up the PC and I got a green screen saying press space to enter restore program. Pressed space and it said choose what to restore from, atapi, asp, usb, or IEEE1394 ! Didn't really want to restore anything over anything else so quit. Is there a microsoft restore program ? ivan
Could be some proprietary system? Sounds like you just need a clean PC to restore to then. I wouldn't take a chance that it's not going to wipe whatever's on the hdd already.
Muffleman
That's exactly what I was worried about.
