Well thanks for replying leon.

First thing i want to say is, you did explain to me on the phone that you double check that all nuts are tightend before a car goes out with a torque rench which im sure you do, but you then had to check with your mechanic James while you were on the phone to me to ask him did he tighten all the nuts and double check. The thing is you dont possibly know if he did or not!

Second thing with regards to someone trying to steal my wheels, well that could possibly be a factor, but as you know with racing hart cx's there are caps that cover all the nuts that are held in with 3 allen key screw nuts. So to take the wheels off you have to remove these first, plus ive got two locking nuts on each wheel which are near imposible to take off without the locking key nuts or damaging the wheel. now if someone was trying to steal the wheels why would they put the cap back on and fix it back with the three allen key nuts! The car was left at the airport for a week in a secure carpark, and there was no sign what so ever anyone attempted to take a wheel off. So from my point of view it could only have come out your garage like this!

i done less than two hundred miles from the point when i collected the car from the garage to when i was getting towed home. Can 5 nuts come lose that quick? i very much doubt it!

now as for pricing i was quoted £3300 all in for-

Front AP racing brakes

Rear uk spec brakes + fluids

de-cat pipe

Blitz nur spec exhaust

and all labour involved.

Not included.

extras- remove tow bar and engine check+ wheel spacers.

I payed £1650 deposit. (50% up front)

i payed £300 when i collected the car with AP's still to fit. (£78 of that was to pay up to date for the work that was done and £222 of that was a deposit towards the AP's that i had to come back for)

Once AP's were fitted 4 weeks later i was asked for £1800 which i questioned at least 3 times because this was £450 more than the original quote. So this means thats how much the extras cost! so i took your word for it as i was in a hurry to catch a flight, and it wasnt till later i realised how much i was charged for the extras.

Now thats £3750 in total i payed which i have pay slips for (£450 more than i was quoted so i take it thats what i was charged for the tow bar removal and engine check)

All the work you priced up on your reply add's to £3395.21 and ive payed you £3750. so for a start ive paid you £354.79 to much!

Now as for compensation i asked for £200 not £250 which you have put very conviently with your pricing to make it look like i was trying to get money back for the work done on the car. Im not! The compensation i asked for was for time i lost off work which was due to getting the car towed home at the early hours of the morning which led to me losing a day off work. I have proof of getting the car towed home from the RAC and the Police.

Now were not getting anyhere fast here because this is just going to go round in circles. so if you can give me a ring Leon to sort this out amicably between us.

Look I know I'm called 'Green' Peace formally known as the Green Supra....£3800 does seem an awful lot of money for what you have had done, someone surely has made a mistake, if it is Leon that has overcharged you then it might just be a mistake and I'm sure if you talk he will more than likely put it right, I'm guessing this includes VAT, and Leon has given you a VAT invoice.

Blooming eck I'm in the wrong job lol.

No-one else has posted since your last comment Danny, it would be nice to see what an independant mechanic says i.e not me or anyone who is associated with Leon...so need a bit of independant advice for this Supra Gentlemen....dont run away everyone...this guy needs some help and advice..

No-one is on trial here and I'm sure there is some misunderstanding or someones made a mistake...

Anyone HELLLOOOO (echo echo echo)

:D

TBH, I dont think this thread needs further input from anyone.

I think Danny's last paragraph is right on the money when he says, "Now were not getting anyhere fast here because this is just going to go round in circles. so if you can give me a ring Leon to sort this out amicably between us".

That IMHO is a very sensible course of action.

Fair comment and I hope they manage to get things sorted, however it has been quite an interesting thread (incidently I've been swayed neither way) and I would like to know the outcome of it.

Sorry to disagree here Simon, but you have to bear in mind nearly all of that is part costs, not a mechanics fault. APs are expensive!

Anyway, it is good to have both sides, things are seldom clear cut.

No problem Syed, I'm glad you pointed that out to me, I just didn't realise how much AP's were.

Agreed. They're going to sort out their differences off the BBS.
