Guest StevenSheen
generally the same as buying UK items...except they can sometimes have customs charges appiled and sometimes longer delivery times....no bad experiances with international ebay yet....if they say they will ship to UK then it should be no different to any other ebay uk item. crashoverride
so duty only paid on new goods?
lockys96
i always buy from people in japan, or asia etc there delivery times are better than our inside postal service. i bought a hks boost gauge for 60notes delivered, it came in 3days a tip if to check the sellers feedback,
lockys96
most japs label it as gift, you dont even have to ask, as they know they are doing you a favour

R Black
Its hit & miss if u pay duty, they don't check everything that comes in, ive ordered loads from the states, no probs, have had to pay duty b4, cant remember the percentage tho, it wasn't a lot. Only real draw back is ive waited up to a month b4, average is around 7-10 days from the states, ive found asia to average the same.
squiffy
i have had a few bits from the states no problems
Chewie
No problems from anywhere in the world. It's the odd one which makes alot of bad news. As Locky mentioned read the feedback. But beware there is a method to ramp up or 'buy' +ve feedback.
AlanM
I got a few things from Tokyo, never paid duty, always came in baby paper (nice paper it is too with tiny teddies and stuff on it). Usually 4 to 7 days
Guest Phillw454
i bought some bulbs once from canda (£12 for a full set of xenon's so i thought it was good) took over 4 weeks to get here though
bondango
Depends on how its shipped. I drop ship stuff direct from the states and use Fed-ex, you have the item in 4 days but still need to pay the Fed-ex clearance fee and vat/duty on the declared value. SupraAyf
I just bought a new Chrome Blitz Electronic Water Temp Gauge the other day for £70 incl P&P from Japan - it normally costs about £175. The package came in birthday paper so no extra customs charges for me. Try 'JapanDyno' on Ebay. The owner is a guy called Dino and he gets the stuff to you within 4 days. SupraJames
Most of my stock comes over from abroad, and everything is labled as a "gift" and with a low value, so have only had to pay import duty once, and I get like 4 parcels a week..! As stated though check sellers feedback and try to use the big Ebay Shops.
Pot
I'm not sure if this'll help about import duty : http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/detail?r.l1=1073858802&r.l3=1073894988&r.t=RESOURCES&type=RESOURCES&itemId=1073790602&r.i=1073790604&r.l2=1078304514&r.s=m
steb9780
I have had several items from a seller called 5400rpm, he was excellent. I had a sard bov from him and a universal apex'i filter from him when I had my rover.
bondango
There is something to consider though. Anything sent as a Gift cannot have a declared value of more than £50. You order yourself something costing $600 and ask it to be sent as a gift, and somewhere along the way it goes missing/gets damaged its your loss unfortunately. The seller or supplier cannot stand by any insurance claim via the shipper/postal company as the item isnt a delcared value (insurance is worked out on this and added to shipping cost). I learned this from experience a few years back..

Dino or Japandyno was set up to get parts into Europe, he has his stuff dropped shipped from Andy Keil who is probably the longest supplier of used jap parts on ebay "japandy". I dont know if Andy still operates on ebay, but i was getting stuff in from him and Powerhouse jimbo way back in the day - talk about getting hard to find stuff! and building on a budget which didnt mean using Xspower and ssautochrome lol
Prof. Monkey
I bought some samco hoses for my RX7 even though it took a month to be delivered, its quicker than the 2 months demon tweeks quoted for manufacture and delivery. Bought a KOYO Rad as well, that came in at about a months delivery... Watch out for Import tax!
