Quattros, RS200 and 6R4 ruled the world when many of you were running around in pampers. Back in the 80s when we had 15% interest rates, rally drivers didn't ponce around in 2 litre family saloons. They had Group B and regularly got killed or killed spectators. It was part of the fun of standing in a Welsh forest and dodging a suped up Metro with a cannibalised V6 engine hurtling through the trees at 100+. Ah when I was a lad ... :)

Think the price tag reflects the fact its an Evolution model (only 24 ever built) the last 4 of which were the best spec'd. If you touch for chassis no. 12 then thats the rarest - the protoype evo. what is impressive is the way that 650bhp is delivered via the right foot :-)

Indeedy, I like the normal RS200 road cars too but an Evolution is the ultimate.

I agree with all of this (which proves my age) - but I still have trouble with terms "Ford" and "£100K" in the same sentence....
