Flickering Speedo

Don't know why the speedo is flickering, but it is probably causing the engine warning lights to come on and if you check your error code, it will probably be Code 42.

My speedo doesn't wort at all and apparently the most common cause is a faulty Delimiter/Converter, so maybe this is on it's way out (if you have one)? Unfortunately I can't find mine to check at the mo'.

HTH,

Nige.:)

I don't think so, as mine has just had it's MOT just before I bought it with the speedo not working at all. No expert though and I guess if you know the tester, you might get away with trivial things like this anyway?

Good luck,

Nige.

P.s. If you are looking for a Delimiter/Converter, it is usually mounted behind the Speedo/Rev counter clocks.

Any joy with this yet mate? I've now done about 500 mile in my Supra since picking it up on the 23rd of Jan' with no speedo. But, for the first time yesterday the speedo sparked into life for a short time (clocked up 0.6 miles) before flickering and going off again. At least I saw it reading 80, which was correct, so I now know there is a converter/delimiter on the car somewhere for definite.

If you find out the cause, I'd be interested to know.

Cheers,

Nige.

As said, this will definitely be a dodgy connection somewhere behind the dash or a fault with the converter.

Whip the dash off and take a look. I'm about to do the same as I have exactly the same problem.

I had this problem and I can confirm its a faulty speedo convertor :) code 42. Take the convertor off from the back of the speedo unit and all will be fine, apart from reading in KPH again :D

Nope - done that and it's still dead/all over the place (only in km now).
