Guest mk47
Scenario: You are at a car show and your given a flyer to promote a business - car bodywork/tuning etc. Question: So what do you guys like to see? What makes the flyer attractive and grabs your interest from the moment you look at it? Pictures? Alot of writing = bad? Size of flyer is to be a5. This is for a project im working on
johnnyknox
Naked chicks, Naked chicks...hehe Seriously though, something with bold bright text that gets your attention and is straight to the point. Then much smaller text to go into detail on the reverse of the flyer. 9 times outa 10 they meet with the first bin people see, so you have to get your point across straight the way. Ian W
nothing overly complicated. i hate having to search through a load of crap for the basic info. iirc Jurgen has something similar knocked up a while back....his results were pretty good. silvershark44
The best thing you can possibly do is produce something that makes your enterprise look extremely competant in what you do. Very important in the auto repair market as there is a lot of monkeys out there. You need some writing to give the person a good idea of who you are and what you do etc, but dont go too over the top on the front. Unless you want to go detailed on the back which would be acceptable. Best thing to do would be to make it A5 size, so people will put it in their pockets but not loose it. Make it attractive too, do some research into what colours are most likely to be receptive to your intended market. good luck!
johnnyknox
Obviously it should have a picture of a Supra on the front!!

Guest mk47
some good ideas there.ian thanks for that thread link too what about colour wise? im thinking of using carbon fibre & brushed aluminium. is that too o.t.t? 2 sided is the plan front to grab attention and then at the back go into a bit more detail about what the place does. bullet points on the rear works better than sentances would you agree? Guest Nicholas
Maz all you need is some fit girls to hand them out if a bloke hands out a great flyer no one cares if a hot girl hands you one you pay attention!
Henk
Should have links to a competent web site & testimonials which can be checked such as car owner clubs etc. If I cannot check credentials it gets binned!

hogmaw
I've done loads of flyers over the years and I would say make the main pic on the front in such a way that people would want to keep it and put on the office/garage wall ie find a GOOD, eye-catching picture/image. All the blurb on the back, pref bullet points. I know the cheapest place to get em printed too, let me know if you need info
Chewie
It's a name, a number preferably not mobile and very important address. And email or website address. Too many cowboys on the scene. Potential customers like to be reassured you're not going to disappear with their money or cars. It hurts me to say it but if you're really serious, forget the naked women cos you could lose a lot of female business and dare I say it ... cough cough splutter ... gay business. Their money is the same colour as ours. If you want some w4nk vids I've got truck loads.

colsoop
Go simple primary colours Maz, if you are adding a nice picture you want the eye to focus on that rather than be distracted by fancy colour blends.
creative
minimalistic (sp) and to the point is what I look for when i do mine. Relevent details and contact info. Keep it uncluttered and not to busy so any text stands out. Short relevent points rather than sentences. The less a person has to read the more they will take in. If all the contact details are on and you hit the right bullet points the person will look at it again.
