supra steveo
my power steering pulley has started to squeek think it might be with the amount of rain and the holes in my TRD bonnet is it just a case of belt off, socket on, pulley off and grease the bearings then reassemble ? Tricky-Ricky
Its more likely to be the belt getting worn, mine was just the same, thought it was the pump, got temporary relief by spraying with WD-40 but after belt change no more noise. supra steveo
How you know it that pulley exactly? heh? heh? because i had my head right next to it and i could hear it squeeking Its more likely to be the belt getting worn, mine was just the same, thought it was the pump, got temporary relief by spraying with WD-40 but after belt change no more noise. i changed the belt not to long ago For god sake do the tip-ex trick put a line of tip-ex across the pulley from inner to outer then if its slipping the lines wont meet up when u check. will try that and tighten the nut if needed
Rob
Tightening the nut won't help. Search crank pulley, or click that live link there. You may well be right, but there are far more reasons for it to be the crank pulley than the PS pump pulley.
supRo
It's probably the power steering pump bearing which is common. You can get the bearing and seal kit (both separate part numbers) for from Toyota. Worth doing if your PS pump is in good condition - needs to be taken apart and checked for play e.t.c
