jayssupra
Anybody tell me what the outcome would be between my BPU supra and a lotus carlton, it's just there's a lad in a garage near me going on all the time how fast it is, i'v never heard of this car so have no idea how quick they are, i don't what to make a fool of myself. My car made 389 bhp at turbofit and 400lbs torque
Ian W
i reckon it'd be damn close....these things are brutally quick from what i remember.
peter richards
i think the police used them years ago , but cant see it being near your supra

Bobbeh
They were 375bhp, 3.5 litre engine, with a TT system. Very fast cars. Good for 175, it would be very close.

Marty
i think the police used them years ago , but cant see it being near your supra i thought the police saw their arse becuase they bought a load of top the range carltons, and then vauxhall brought out the lotus one, which was in a different league to the 1s they bought. They are a bit heavier than the supe i imagine so you shouldn't have too much of a problem but you wont leave it for dust

Bobbeh
Engine Type: 3.6 Liter, GM Inline-6, Twin Garret T25 Turbochargers I wonder if thats the same/similar setup to the Buick GN. That was a fantastic straight 6 engine use in that car and also very tuneable.
Pete
Awesome cars. Probably still hold the record for fastest saloon car. V.limited. Most are lefties. Rare you'll see one (and not a badly kitted Carlton made to look like one :eyesroll: ) They made a huge media splash when they came out with headlines in papers saying how irresponsible Vauxhall were for making it etc. I bet they just loved all that press! Obviously it was the Lotus engineering that did it, and nothing to do with Vauxhall at all.
Homer
More than a match for a BPU, similar stats IIRC, but the Carltons are in its stock form! 1/4mile: 13.5secs at 111mph
Carl
One of my favourite cars, the Lotus Carlton. Comfort & power you can fit the whole family in air conditioned luxury. The torque made them brutaly quick, particularly after 100mph. It would be an interesting match up for a BPU Supra. Carl

Wez
I would say a BPU motor would have a hard time with one. Yes the police did get the hump as did BMW etc as they had just agreed to limit there cars to 155 and this does 175+ I have the topgear review by Tiff but its 57.4mb, does someone have an FTP i can upload it too? Terminator
Great car, there is a real one round here, it is mint. Don't see it on the road much. Only ever saw one other on the road and it was very fast. It held the record for the fastest 4 door saloon for ages. If I remember correctly the only thing that was standard was the shell.
