michael
I need my engine number for my insurance docs (first time I've ever been asked for that!) but don't seem to have a note of it anywhere - am I right in thinking it's down near the oil filter area and a real bugger to get to from above? Is this info on the V5 doc? (Mine is away for an address change)
SimonB
I'm not sure there is one as such. My V5 just has 2JZ-GTE down as the engine no. and that's what the VIN plate has for an engine number too. Is that not what they mean?
michael
They don't specify too much - just "Engine Number" and a blank space, maybe they would be happy with an engine code, I guess I can always give them that and see if they complain. I presume they want the actual number so they can check if I do an engine change at a later date?
Ian C
I got asked this and I told them "2JZ-GTE" and they seemed happy enough. -Ian
dangerous brain
Its actually on a printed barcode thing on the cambelt cover I beleive which is why on ebay and the likes you see a photo of it when someone is selling one. So not all that reliable a source really. The block I have outside has no stamped on number to be seen anywhere.
