michael
Fantastic, nice find. I still dream of owning a MK1 Escort like that one day.
Jake
Great find! Brilliant to see the 1600cc crossflow staying right up there with the mighty Chevy V8! What are they, 5.4Ltr? Something like that. I didn't even know there used to be a Crystal Palace race circuit. It's probably a housing estate now Definitely Murray Walker commentating BTW. I used to have a RS1800 MkI Escort much like the rs1600 in that video. It was a great fun car but very low geared and noisy as hell inside. I had a Viva race car for a while too (Grasstrack) but I never liked it much.
ivan
Great racing. I wish they'd show more old stuff like that on TV.
garethr
Don't forget Part 1 I fondly remember saloon car racing on the box with Minis vs Lotus Cortinas vs Jag 3.8 Mk2s vs Ford Galaxies. Classic "handling against horsepower" battles.
rik
Wow, excellent video, great racing. Real David and Goliath stuff there. That Viva looked the nuts. My dad had one of them
Suprasteve
how would a modern day supra fair up against them? standard super car v's old school race prep car - would be interesting. no doubt the supra would get whooped
